They were directly generated and nurtured by acquired followers, who built adherence to the ideas of the twenty-year period and transformed them into myth, reworked and tested them, never tiring of fueling social and political conflict, often resulting in pure, brutal, indiscriminate violence, which gives you the sensation, the thrill of power, exhilarating and motivating you, providing you with the energy needed to fight.
While it's true that the right has failed to establish its own cultural hegemony in Italy, it has nevertheless succeeded in establishing a new generation of followers, aided by the strength of the state apparatus and a complacent and smug mainstream media. With the strong support of a media empire, it has criminalized young people's political engagement, fostered their estrangement from social life, fueled disengagement and turned it into a value, cultivated hedonism through drug use and thus alienation and individualization, failing to realize that by doing so, it was disarming society, disjointing it, and extinguishing all social inspiration. In doing so, it was inserting itself into the general evolution of Western societies. All this until the horror of the abyss into which these techniques have plunged society and humanity slowly awakened consciences, first with the fight to protect the environment and then with the horror of the Holocaust of the Palestinian people and the genocide perpetrated in Gaza. A clear and obvious slaughter, immediately understandable for the horrors it wreaked, more so than a war like the Ukrainian one, fought between two armies and of which everything has been done to obscure the causes, effects, and consequences. Giorgia Meloni has completed her journey internationally and domestically: it's time to roll up her sleeves and get to work, rebuild social relationships, and erase her existence.
