For a quarter of a century, the orchestra has brought together musicians, cultures, and generations through a passion for symphonic music and musical discovery. This anniversary season pays tribute to that enduring spirit — honouring our past while looking boldly toward the future. These first three concerts reflect the very essence of the orchestra: dialogue between traditions and innovation, between Europe and the wider world, between timeless masterpieces and contemporary voices. Peer Gynt was undoubtedly a great traveler. The BPhO likewise takes you on a journey from the Far North to the Middle East, weaving together Grieg’s Suites with contemporary works by Iraqi composer Qoutayba Neaimi, Claude Ledoux from Belgium and the Qatari composer Nasser Sahim Al-Jassim. Featuring Irish tenor Emmet Cahill, accompanied by the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra and the Brussels Philharmonic Chorus, conducted by David Navarro-Turres. An evening full of Irish melodies, excerpts from operas and musicals, celebrating exile, resilience and hope !
