WORLD WORLDWIDE EUROPE GERMANY - news journal UPDATE - (en) Germany, Dortmund, AGDo: Film Screening & Discussion - Without Bosses (ca, de, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

Shareable image for the event "Film Screening & Discussion - Without Bosses." The image looks like a stylized movie poster printed on recycled paper. In the center, a crowd of people stands in gray silhouettes, surrounded by sound waves meant to represent their shouts. Two large, comic-strip-style fists rise from the crowd. At the top of the poster is the title of the film "Without Bosses - Democracy at Work," and at the bottom are the type, location, and time of the event: "Film Screening & Discussion," "June 4th - 6:00 PM," and "Black Pigeon." ---- A job without a boss? "In this economic climate?!" - For many people, that sounds like pure utopia. But right at the heart of our market system, built on profit maximization and hierarchy, another reality already exists, one based on solidarity and ethical principles: collectively owned businesses that fight daily for a better "right in a wrong world."

June 4th At the Black Pigeon, we'll be showing the documentary "Without Bosses" (2025), which not only presents the concept of collectively owned businesses but also follows the everyday lives of the people who work in them. Following the screening, we'll have an open discussion on the topic.

The space opens at 6:00 PM, and the event begins at 6:15 PM and is scheduled to last approximately two hours. The program is free, but we kindly request donations for the filmmakers. Food will not be provided, but hot and cold drinks will be available for purchase. You are also welcome to bring your own food and drinks.

The film will be shown in German, with German or English subtitles available upon request. The discussion will be held in spoken German or English, depending on the participants' preference. The Black Pigeon (Scharnhorststraße 50, 44147 Dortmund) is wheelchair accessible. The town can be reached from the main train station by subway (stop Hafen, U47 Westerfilde or U49 Hafen).
