Accuracy, price increases and "hike": for us the bill, for the capital the
profitability... ---- We have experienced well in our skin what the constant
crisis of the state-capitalist system means for our pockets and lives, a new
episode of which we have been experiencing for the last 1.5 years. The political
and economic elites, in order to preserve and maximize their profits, have
launched a fierce attack against the social majority.With a series of
reactionary-anti-social measures, they deprive the social base of even the most
basic means of survival, overthrow centuries-old conquests and hand over all
goods and public services into the hands of capital, thus creating the best
conditions for the intensification of exploitation and oppression. . A few weeks
ago, it became known that a new wave of price increases is already underway in
consumer and industrial items, a new wave of precision that affects basic goods,
such as food, electricity, fuel.This is an indirect reduction in the salaries and
pensions of the majority of society, which is added to the tax robbery of the
last decade, which took place in the name of repaying the debts to the
"creditors", at the same time that the debt has exceeded the 236% of GDP. In
addition to taxation and constant price increases, in recent years we have seen
broader reactionary restructurings and privatizations in a number of areas that
burden the daily life of society, increase the cost of living, lower the standard
of living.
The new wave of price increases is also recorded in the ELSTAT data which show
increases in almost all items of popular consumption by about 2%, while for some
items they reach up to 12%. Indicative of the large increase in prices of various
necessary products are the following figures: fresh seafood 4.39%, olive oil
2.61%, vegetables 8%, meat 13.21%, gasoline 16.8%, diesel 20.25% , natural gas
72.32%. Respectively, there is an increase of 6.7% in transport and 4% in
housing. These price increases, most characteristic of all the huge increases in
energy (up to 50% in electricity), arise as a result of the need of local and
international capital to quickly return to the maximum possible profitability,
reflect market competition and are directly related to the strategy of "release"
of energy and the "green" transition, which is preached by the rulers. So once
again, the crisis and the competition of the capitalist world are paid for by the
social base.
The new wave of precision comes in a very special social condition and is in fact
a continuation of the anti-social planning of the state and capital, as it has
been in recent years. We are more than ten years after the outbreak of the
financial crisis of 2008 and almost 2 years since the outbreak of the pandemic.
During this time, class inequalities have escalated, the cost of living has risen
dramatically, and wages are lower than ever. The pandemic period is characterized
by intentions and planning of domination.From the beginning of the health crisis
it became clear not only that the state was indifferent to the protection of
human life and the social majority, but also that all its moves were aimed at
serving the interests of capital. Thus, instead of strengthening the public
health system, instead of hiring medical staff and taking effective protection
measures in the workplace, the state is already working on a plan for further
privatization of the health system by not hiring and firing workers, with
announcements of mergers of clinics and hospitals, with the entry of private
companies in the public health system (PPP).
But beyond health, similar planning exists in a number of other sectors and
services such as education, water supply, transportation, housing, public
infrastructure and property (from buildings to entire mountains and beaches). It
is characteristic that the complete restructuring that has been taking place in
recent years in the field of education includes, among other things, the
introduction of tuition fees in postgraduate (and now undergraduate) study
programs, the involvement of more and more private companies with both university
services and research programs. , the imposition of class barriers through the
reduction of admissions and the introduction of the Minimum Admission Base.
In addition, the attack of the state and capital against the social majority
extends to the issue of housing. For some time now, the state has lifted
restrictions on auctions and passed a new bankruptcy code, which frees up
auctions and first home evictions. In particular, the new bankruptcy code,
stepping on the path opened by the previous Syriza government and imposed by EU
directives, frees the sale and rent of the first home of the "debtor", and even
with the activation of the relevant procedure by the bank, funds and other
creditors. Including, the borrower will transfer ownership of the property to a
private specialist body set up for this purpose and then be able to become a
tenant in his home while facing the constant threat of permanent eviction, since
after three years the bank will have the free terminate the contract if 3 monthly

meet a basic social need, such as housing, but to secure profits for the banks
and capital. It is already possible that a huge housing crisis will break out in
the near future.
Special mention should be made of the issue of energy, as in recent years, all
governments without exception and under EU directives. have turned the country
into a vast construction site of "development" projects which, according to their
announcements, aim to promote "green" forms of energy and the energy
self-sufficiency of the country. The business of RES not only did not bring
self-sufficiency - on the contrary - not only did it not bring a reduction in
consumer prices as evangelized by those who are heavily subsidized by European
funds to produce expensive electricity, but at the same time boosted energy
prices in public homes. at the same time manufacturers continue to get
electricity at cost price. The largest percentage of PPC has been in private
hands for some time now and the opening of the energy market has only brought
worse services and immediate power outages to those who owe two bills. The only
thing left for society from the dominant energy policies isthe catastrophic works
that take place all over the country and which plunder every natural resource,
burdening the mountains, the forests, the rivers and the seas.
All of the above, from the price increases in basic goods and electricity, the
rapid privatization of a series -until recently- of public services, spaces and
structures (ports, OSE, PPC, HEDNO, airports, OASTH, student clubs, etc.), until
privatization of health, the further involvement of capital in education and the
liberalization of auctions, are part of the overall offensive launched by the
dominant exploitative system against the lower social strata. The increases in
basic goods in combination with the minimum wages (and despite the provocatively
meager increase of the minimum wage by 0.52 € per day), the huge number of
unemployed and the working galley conditions that have been formed, especially
after the last anti-labor bill ,Workers and the unemployed, the poor and the
oppressed, are increasingly excluded from access to basic livelihoods, health and
education. Every day we sink deeper and deeper into poverty and insecurity.
From the constant individual struggle for survival, to the constant collective
struggle for life
The immediate future holds even deeper poverty, even clearer exclusion of more
and more of us from health, education, energy, transportation, housing, a range
of basic necessities such as water and food. All over the world, taking different
forms of networking and organization, dynamic and militant resistances defend the
public and social character of a series of services, diversify and often
effectively protect the needs of society against privatizations, evictions,
expensive rents, cut-off currents , overpriced bills. Having in our hands the
forum and the experience of the winner, after many years of struggle of the
e-food workers, no one can convince us of the futility of our organized
resistance. In every neighborhood, in every workplace, in every place we meet, to
communicate our common problems, to stand together on the principle of mutual
aid, to set up networks and structures of social and class solidarity. To fight
