WORLD WORLDWIDE AVAAZ SOS GENOCIDE SUDAN News Journal Update - (Schokkende inhoud) Ze schreeuwen, maar de wereld hoort hen niet

Kom in actie!
Beste vrienden,

  • Onafhankelijke journalisten financieren om foto’s, documentatie en ooggetuigenverslagen te verzamelen uit Darfur en de rest van de Sudan;
  • Organisaties ondersteunen die nieuwsverslagen factchecken, desinformatie aanpakken en internationale verslaggeving over de massamisdaden mogelijk maken;

WORLD WORLDWIDE ITALY News Journal Update - (en) Italy, Sicilia Libertaria: THE SOCIETY OF NEGLECT (ca, de, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

 We are surrounded by abandonment. The lack of attention towards the

world, towards ourselves, is the distinctive sign of this compressedtime, compressed into narrow coordinates and unable to see aperspective: of change, of liberation. Degradation attacks us, in thecities, in the countryside, on the roads; The fires spread, leavingbehind a black desert that creates a desolate and sad landscape; Wasteoverwhelms us, with its obstinacy and persistence it occupies everyspace, it sneaks in between the interstices; The water bombs hit aconcrete-soaked area, causing flooding and deaths. And where cleanlinessand precision are seen, it is only a superficial patina that tries tohide the surrounding ravages, even the invisible and intangible ones.All this is the result of carelessness, of a consumerist idea of theworld, of that disposable idea that seemed to make us absolute owners ofour destiny. And instead. Instead, even our bodies are now subject toconsumerist and commercial logic according to which everything can bemonetized and sold. Everything has a measure and a price: health likeany other need that we now categorically call a right. In this perverseand exhausting game, if we are all losers, someone believes that theyare the custodian of a destiny, the necessary architect of an immutableorder and of enjoying unlimited and well-deserved privileges, so theycontinue pushing towards the abyss, forcing a large part of the humanrace to a hard and miserable life.There was a moment in our recent past when all the distortions of thedominant system, founded on the exploitation of all natural and humanenergy, became evident and when it seemed that the incontrovertibilityof having to subvert everything had been understood. I am obviouslyreferring to the Covid 19 pandemic. However, once the storm has passed,what remains is a generalized feeling of helplessness that implies thecommon feeling and, paradoxically, the belief that science and power,despite Everything, they are capable of facing emergencies. So that wecan continue down the same path: carelessness after carelessness, leteveryone work hard and may the best win.However, there were those who, at the most acute moment of the syndemic- of that condition in which health, the environment, society, theeconomy are sinking into an increasingly dramatic and unsustainablesituation -, when widespread abandonment was taking its toll in thedeath and elimination of social relations, he reacted not coincidentallyby remembering the condition opposite to the behavior of states andgovernments: care. Taking care of oneself, one's own body, theenvironment, and human relationships appeared - and appears - as theonly way out of the devastation and anguish of profit and competition.This is how "The Manifesto for a Solidarity Society" was born, signed bydozens and dozens of associations and groups. Care, not as a simpleservice but as a political instrument of emancipation and socialtransformation, had already entered feminist reflection in the 1970s.And precisely as a political concept it was taken up in that manifesto.In the preamble it was said: "A virus has put the entire world incrisis: Covid 19 has spread in a very short time throughout the planet,has led half of the world's population to self-imprisonment, hasinterrupted productive activities, commercial and social. and culturalactivities, and continues to claim victims. Within the health and socialemergency we have all experienced the precariousness of existence, thefragility and interdependence of human and social life.[...]Decades ofpolicies of cuts, privatization and corporatization of healthcare, ofprofit-driven globalization, have transformed a serious epidemiologicalproblem into a massive tragedy[...]The pandemic has highlighted how asystem based on thought only market and on profit, on predatoryanthropocentrism, on the reduction of all living beings to a commodity,is not capable of guaranteeing protection to anyone. The pandemic isproof of the ongoing systemic crisis, the main evidence of which isdetermined by the dramatic climate crisis, caused by global warming, andby the gigantic social inequality, which has reached unprecedentedlevels.[...]Nothing can be like before, for the simple reason that itwas precisely the first one that caused the disaster. Today more thanever we must oppose a system that subordinates everything to the economyof profit to the construction of a society of care, which is care ofoneself, of others, of the environment, of the living, of the commonhome and of generations to come."The manifesto therefore hoped for theovercoming of the capitalist system and the affirmation of a societybased on solidarity and mutualism that care, the distinctive historicaland anthropological character of women, would support and innervate.What happened to all this? Unfortunately in today's public debate thatintuition is completely overtaken by the usual issues that occupy dailyinformation: the war, the PNRR, the budget law, the stability pact, etc.Without having a minimally critical approach to these topics, on thecontrary they are presented as the only horizon within which we canmove. However, it is probably also true that proposing a radicaltransformation of the dominant model would have required consequentaction, constancy and mobilization capable of permeating increasinglylarger strata of the population, of directing them towards a totalrejection of mercantile logic. This did not happen, and it did nothappen also because that project limited itself to enunciatingprinciples which paradoxically should have been implemented by thoseagainst whom they were aimed: the governmental and non-governmentalinstitutions, with their legal apparatus, their rigidities, theircompromises. . In the absence of even the attempt to create pressurefrom below, which was real and not supposed and superficial, which wouldactivate some reformist process.Now, after this summer of 2023 which has continued to record peaks ofheat together with extreme atmospheric phenomena, in which thesenselessness of war and all the daily tragedies - migration, poverty,injustices - are mechanically repeated, the "care" of our lives and whatsurrounds us is increasingly necessary. But what fights should we haveand how should we conduct them? Perhaps choices should be made,priorities put in place. Does it make sense to engage in a de factoreformist path that ends up reproducing the circuit of consumption andthe market? The struggles for wages, to guarantee the so-called rights(limited and compromising), to ensure the so-called social mobility, orthose to carve out a niche of well-being, healthy eating, respect forthe environment, the protection of minorities make sense, do they have afuture? And not only in the face of an irreversible climate crisis thatwould seem to lead us towards disaster. Mechanisms and methods should berethought to ensure that we are able to present an overall vision inwhich the issues are linked to each other and we can imagine (and beginto practice) a change conducted from below and capable of renewingsociety at its roots. Revolutions and social upheavals cannot be plannedon the drawing board but having awareness and clarity could be helpful.Angelo Barberihttps://www.sicilialibertaria.it/_________________________________________A - I N F O S  N E W S  S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.ca

WORLD WORLDWIDE FRANCE News Journal Update - (en) France, UCL - For a return to social and ecological struggles (ca, de, fr, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

 From Sainte-Soline to Nanterre, from strike pickets to the Earth

Uprisings, our social camp is fighting on all fronts. After a retirementmovement of historic proportions, the country experienced a series ofmobilizations which shook it, both ecologically, socially andanti-racistly. ---- 40 years after the march for equality, it is stillnot good to be a racialized woman in France. Indeed, this 2023 schoolyear is marked by Islamophobia and young people are particularlysuffering from it following the ban on wearing the abaya in schools.This misogynistic and Islamophobic offensive is part of the continuityof policies of control and exclusion of people who are Muslim orperceived as such, and more particularly women. As a result of thesepolicies, racialized high school girls see their bodies become an objectof public debate and are refused access to education under the cover ofa distorted conception of secularism. This measure is a new stage in theextreme right-wing of society. At the government level, the Darmaninbill reinforces the exploitation of undocumented immigrants and stateracism. The police, including their unions, are now freewheeling. Justlike the far right, whose increased street violence enjoys almost totalimpunity.Systemic racism was also illustrated through the murder of 17-year-oldNahel last June as well as the cruelly abusive sentences and sanctionsof the rioters, as evidenced by a 10-month prison sentence for the theftof a can. We demand amnesty for those convicted. Residents ofworking-class neighborhoods, neglected by successive governments,expressed their just anger following yet another racist police murder.Despite the general lack of establishment of the left in working-classneighborhoods for decades, the rapid mobilization of the social andpolitical left made it possible to build the demonstrations of July 6and the march for social justice, against racism and against policeviolence on September 23. This will therefore be decisive in shaping thefuture strategy of the left in this movement.On the ecological front, the year was marked by local struggles: land,water, forests, nuclear, Lyon-Turin... These struggles were violentlyrepressed by the government and its police, even if the threats ofdissolution of the Uprisings of the Earth were ultimately unsuccessful.This amplification of environmental struggles testifies to a generalawareness of the need to attack the roots of the ecological and climatecrisis: the control and exploitation of planetary resources by thebourgeoisie. These struggles will continue in the coming weeks,particularly with the national coalition "La Déroute des Routes" againstunnecessary road projects.The destruction of land is accompanied by the destruction of the rightsand living conditions of workers. During the pension movement, thegovernment showed its determination to continue the destruction of ourrights by using all the means at its disposal, whether institutional orrepressive, as illustrated by the case of Sébastien Menesplier, a CGTtrade unionist, targeted by a judicial summons of a political nature. Ina context where inflation is exploding, struggles are emerging on thequestion of wages. For example, at Emmaüs in the North whereundocumented workers are fighting for regularization and a salaryincrease. In this sense, October 13, European day against austerity, forwage increases and equal pay, promises to be a key date in the coming weeks.These mobilizations have one thing in common: violent repression as theonly response to legitimate aspirations. This unpopular state, booedboth in the streets and in the stadiums, denounced on multiple occasionsby international organizations, nevertheless perseveres in itsauthoritarian policies. More than ever, it is time for unity andorganization of our social camp. Three dates will mark this social andpolitical return to school: September 23 against systemic racism andpolice violence, September 28, international abortion rights day andOctober 13 for our salaries.Motion adopted by the Federal Coordination of the Libertarian CommunistUnion meeting in Grenoble on September 16 and 17, 2023.https://www.unioncommunistelibertaire.org/?Pour-une-rentree-de-luttes-sociales-et-ecologiques-10091_________________________________________A - I N F O S  N E W S  S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.ca

WORLD WORLDWIDE FRANCE News Journal Update - (en) France, UCL AL #341 - Policy, Urban revolts: Working-class neighborhoods take center stage (ca, de, fr, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

 The revolt of working-class youth at the end of June forces us to think

about the experiences of domination in working-class neighborhoods as aglobal question. A demanding and ambitious campaign must be led todemand justice for working-class neighborhoods and not leave youngpeople isolated.The death of Nahel Merzouk on June 27, killed at point blank range by apolice officer, provoked a week of revolts in working-classneighborhoods which spread across the country from the second evening.On Thursday June 29, the white march organized in Nanterre by Nahel'smother and relatives was violently repressed and the night from Thursdayto Friday will be the strongest of the revolt.In the following weeks, the annual march for Adama Traoré inBeaumont-sur-Oise will be banned as will rallies in Paris. While theyoung people's fed-up exploded spontaneously and they are accused ofcommitting violent acts, presumed to be non-political, at the same timepeaceful expressions and mobilizations of the Truth and Justicecommittees are prohibited... a good example of state hypocrisy   !Political and police responses will be authorized in an anthology ofracist remarks and depoliticization of the revolt. While the demand forthe abolition of the license to kill voted for by Cazeneuve in 2017 wasan obvious response, the government will do everything to move away fromthe question of the murder of Nahel and to focus on the looting which "would no longer have anything to do with his death  ”  : we should notmake the link between looting and inflation for example, when manyessential businesses have been looted.The ghetto systemBut here, police violence and inflation go hand in hand. The revoltforces working-class neighborhoods to be put back in the spotlight as areality with its unity of articulated oppressions. These oppressions aretoo often approached in their fragmentations: social/capitalist questionon one side, racial/colonial question on the other, distinguishingexploitation, unemployment, housing often treated separately, and notlinked to racist and sexist discrimination. In reality, the social illsof working-class neighborhoods and the different dominations cannot beseparated, and therefore neither can the demands.The situation in our neighborhoods is neither exceptional noraccidental: everywhere in the world the dominant classes wage war on thediscriminated urban proletariats and reserve for them a regime ofcolonial management and controlled abandonment. On the menu:unemployment, discrimination and impoverishment. These populations areassigned to precarious work, creating the conditions for the evils ofpoverty (survival and illegal getting by, etc.) and then reproachingthem for it, repressing them and incarcerating them... for the greaterprofit of the capitalist exploiters (see for example The economy ofprivate prisons in the USA   [ 1 ] .This is the ghetto system. In France this translates into neighborhoodswhere non-owners are found: populations of working-class origins, oftenimmigrants or from colonization, many single mothers, suffering dailyhumiliations, discrimination at work, in education, in housing,health... This process of impoverishment / precariousness /discrimination forms a system and benefits the bourgeoisie: classreproduction, strangled population subjected to poor working conditionsand low wages (precarious contracts, temporary work, subcontracting ).The suburbs are the neoliberal laboratories before generalization:yesterday the free zones, youth jobs and subsidized contracts (the CPEhad been a humiliating response to the revolts of 2005), today theuberization of which Macron championed, and which he sold as a solutionto unemployment. The bourgeoisie, through its class separatism, hasghettoized the suburbs, the better to " reconquer  ” then throughgentrification and “  police cleansing  ”   [ 2 ] .We are not dealing here with accidents and involuntary abandonments, butwith a system caused by a racist state and economic regime which wouldnot hold up without the ideological support which justifies unequal andpolice treatment (Islamophobia, recently the stigmatization of “  socialwelfare profiteers whom they would send to the country  ”…)What is the value of the words of a local youth compared to those of acop in the eyes of the racist state  ? Let's film them. Nanterre, onJune 29 during the white march in tribute to Nahel.Patrice Leclerc From 2005 to today, developmentsBut this particularity of the neighborhoods must be linked to generalsocial protest, such as the retirement movement where many workers fromworking-class neighborhoods have mobilized. This moment of strongmobilization of several layers of society was also a moment of explosionin the face of the social distress of the moment, just like the yellowvests in 2018, whose repression forced us to face police violence.In the spring with the repression of the retirement demonstrations andSainte Soline, this question re-imposed itself, with the demand for thedissolution of the BRAVM. Macronie, which has suffered a significantnumber of social movements since 2017 from several different layers ofsociety, is afraid that all of them will converge. It thereforerepresses with all its might. Things have changed since the revolts of2005, which saw mobilizations in working-class neighborhoods renew anddiversify after that date. The numerous and organized Truth and Justicecommittees have pierced the wall of silence through the mobilizations ofdifferent collectives (Lamine Dieng, UNPA, Adama committee, etc.). Theychallenged a left and struggle organizations which themselvesexperienced generational renewal (the CPE generation was contemporarywith the revolts of 2005, 20 years later it is today leader of thestruggle and sensitive to these questions). As a result, the revolt wasnot isolated as in 2005: let us cite, for example, the arrival of SophieBinet in Nanterre the day after Nahel's death.All this constitutes a victory that the government fears. If theSeparatism Law had somewhat weakened the anti-racist movement in recentyears, the revolt caused a surge to which the social movement responded.An appeal signed by various unions, associations and politicalorganizations was made public very quickly “  Our country is in mourning  ”   [ 3 ] which will call for demonstrations in the following days. Adate for a united march is already planned for the start of the schoolyear, September 23   [ 4 ]. It is a question of perpetuating this startfrom the start of the school year, of putting it into place over timeand of making it a vector of mass struggles against injustices in theseneighborhoods. Struggles in working-class neighborhoods have also alwaysexisted, the equality marches of the 1980s (the 40th anniversary ofwhich will be celebrated in the fall, and which will be an importantevent) or the initiatives of the MIB (Movement of the immigration andthe suburbs)   [ 5 ] which launched the “  Justice in the suburbs  ”campaign. We must now build a new mass mobilization.We demand justice in the suburbsThe libertarian movement must take its full place in futuremobilizations where the diversity of tactics must be an asset. We willhave to encourage convergence and self-organization, and preventmilitant pitfalls capable of creating new divisions, resentment anddisillusionment: neither replace each other, nor abandon. Aslibertarians, we must also bring forward our own demands and analyses.After 2005, certain demands were imposed on us   [ 6 ], still relevanttoday, our democratic and self-managing demands must take on greaterpolitical depth to counter the hegemony of the fascist theory of thegreat replacement: offensively calling into question the nation-state,its assimilationist republic and its authoritarian secularism andidentity, through the affirmation, recognition and dignity of the peopleof the suburbs as they are: popular, multicultural, creolized, on themove, with diverse histories (worker, migratory, colonial, struggles)assert their right to freedom of expression and cultural hybridity   !We must affirm the right to take full control of the inhabitants ofworking-class neighborhoods over all decisions that concern their lives:the right to health and good living conditions far from pollution, tofood sovereignty, the right has public services under the control ofresidents and self-managed by them   ! Radical oppression demandsradical responses.Nicolas Pasadena (UCL Montreuil)To validate[ 1 ]  Angela Davis, A struggle without truce , La Fabrique editions, 2016.[ 2 ]  Increased repression often accompanies renovation/gentrificationplans, see Mathieu Rigouste, Police domination, industrial violence , LaFabrique, Paris, 2012, 257 pages.[ 3 ]  “ Our country is in mourning and angry ”, on the Solidaireswebsite, solidaires.org .[ 4 ]  August 1  , 2023, “ Call for the united march of September 23 “For the end of systemic racism, police violence, for social justice andpublic freedoms ” ”, on the Solidaires website, solidaires.org.[ 5 ]  MIB, Immigration and suburbs movement, active in the 1990s-2000s[ 6 ]  “ Working neighborhoods: five years after the revolts, what haschanged ? », Alternative libertaire , n° 201, December 2010.https://www.unioncommunistelibertaire.org/?Revoltes-urbaines-Les-quartiers-populaires-sur-le-devant-de-la-scene_________________________________________A - I N F O S  N E W S  S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.ca
