I'm writing because there's a day of protest taking place at around 12
detention centres across the UK on may 7th. We're currently still
organising it, but the plan is that there will be a demonstration
outside each detention centre. Each region in the UK is autonomously
organising the demonstration in their area.

It is great to make contact and show solidarity with people involved in
similar struggles against borders wider than the UK, and so we were
wondering if anyone where you are has any desire/time/energy for
organising a demonstration over there on May 7th too. It could be really
powerful to have simultaneous demonstrations going on across borders
that are protesting not only the existence of detention centres but of
border and migration controls across the world! I know May 7th seems
quite soon, but even if it is a small demonstration just the action of
being in solidarity across borders would be pretty powerful, and
hopefully build and strengthen ties and solidarity across borders
between groups, and encourage people to understand no borders as a
worldwide movement.

Give me a message if this is something you'd be up for! It would be
really helpful if you could also send this message on to groups you
think might be interested too in organising something.
