Make the Message Clear – No Ban in My Name
Dear,
Families have been torn apart. Children as young as five have been detained for hours on end. People with perfectly valid visas and green cards have been turned away and left in limbo. And through all of this, our neighbors and communities are scared of what may come next.
That is why we must push back.
Earlier this week we asked you to reach out to your elected representatives, and urge them to publically denounce the Muslim ban, and indeed, many Senators and Representatives from across the political spectrum have taken action.
Senator Dianne Feinstein called the order "shocking" and "unbelievable." Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham said, "We fear this executive order will become a self-inflicted wound in the fight against terrorism."
It’s a good start, but we need to do more. For all of those that speak out there are many more who remain silent, and every day that goes by without opposition makes Trump’s Muslim ban harder to defeat.
That’s why we’re asking you to go one step further and call your Senators. Make the message clear: No Ban in My Name. Not now. Not ever.
Together we can stand up for human rights in a Trump Administration.
In Solidarity,
Margaret Huang
