But even before it starts, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has already polluted the outcome by publicly colluding with the White House. Here are the undisputed facts that even Republicans accept: Donald Trump used his power and prestige to extract personal political favors from the Ukrainian president. It's the most basic definition of "abuse of power," which is why the U.S. House of Representatives voted to impeach Trump last month.
