Dear friends –
Earlier this year, my government rolled out an unprecedented attack on LGBT+ lives, like mine.
Hungary's anti-LGBT+ legislation bans any content, from TV and movies to books or even flyers, that features queer characters and could be seen by minors.
The impact has been devastating. LGBT+ people like me are viewed not only as second-class citizens, but as people who should be ashamed, hidden away, silenced, and punished, just because of who we are.
But something positive also happened this year, Luc. And that's YOU.
As soon as this hateful attack was launched, my organization, Budapest Pride, partnered with All Out on a global campaign urging the European Union to take action and require Hungary to change its course. So far, over 91,000 people have signed the petition.
But we can't stop now. We're gearing up for a huge continuation of this fight in 2022 when we will broaden our strategy against Hungary's hateful laws.

The All Out movement also fueled our fight in Hungary this year by:
- Lighting up Budapest with rainbow and Hungarian colors, projecting a powerful message against the anti-LGBT+ law across the Danube River;
- Holding rallies in 11 cities around the world in front of Hungarian Embassies, keeping up the pressure on the European Commission to take action;
- And, teaming up with MTV to ensure that the European Music Awards in Budapest brought a strong message of solidarity to the LGBT+ community in Hungary.
None of this would have been possible without the support of All Out members.
Because of you, LGBT+ activists like me here in Hungary know that we are not alone. Far from it. Our fight here is fueled by a powerful movement of individuals who mobilize and join in from all around the world.
We just need your help to keep the fight going strong in 2022!
Thanks for going All Out,VikiBudapest Pride
