Despite the appealsof the attending customers to pay how much, the managers of the store wereadamant and insisted on proceeding with the lawsuit. This is, of course, thesupermarket chain LIDL, which during the pandemic showed an increase in profitsand apparently quickly forgot the ads for its "charity" project, the momentsomeone stole a piece of bread. As expected, the attitude of the company toexterminate the elderly woman in another way, caused her terrible psychologicalconsequences, who, among other things, lives on a pension and pays theinstallments of mortgages.The feeling of unbearable injustice that arises from hearing this news was soloud that with excessive hypocrisy, canal bosses and the government asked thesupermarket chain to withdraw the lawsuit and finally agreed to do so at noon onWednesday, February 16 by issuing a relevant announcement.Having first financially impoverished the working class, with cuts in wages,pensions, tax raids, raids and the abolition of Collective Bargaining Agreements,along with any prospect of a substantial increase in our incomes, they aresuddenly moved by our drama. and ask for the lawsuit to be dropped. Not a wordabout the next day of this woman and all those who live in deep poverty and areforced to be deprived, to borrow or to steal in order to survive.At a time when precision rents, heating oil, fuel, electricity and commoditiesare leading to another violent material devaluation of our lives, the governmentof excellence has once again to offer humiliating wage increases that in no waymeet our needs. Otherwise, they vote for "Hatzidaki bills", which legalize the 10hours and in practice prohibit the right to trade union action. They finally wantto impose a social cemetery, where they will offer us a sacrifice on the plate ofCapital, always in the name of national development.There is indeed a case of theft that concerns us all, but it is not what happenedin LIDL. It is the theft that the law recognizes as legal in the insurance fundsfrom the State that gives meager pensions, to the moneylenders of the banks whohoard from day laborers and much more the one that happens every day in theworkplace, with unpaid overtime, uninsured and poorly paid workers.The solution to this case will not come from any parliament and no "savinggovernment". We must build solidarity and organization on the side of ourcolleagues where we work and together with our neighbors where we live.
