The anarcho-syndicalist organization positions itself against the latest
actions of the Spanish Government consisting of validating the years of torture, murders and persecution carried out by Morocco on the Saharawi people ---- TheGeneral Confederation of Labor (CGT) has issued a statement to show its positionon the new betrayal perpetrated by the Spanish Government towards Western Sahara, calling it cynical and cruel for forgetting the more than five decades of painand struggle of these people against the Moroccan regime. ---- CGT states in thisstatement that the Spanish Government has become an accomplice of Morocco, byvalidating the murders, torture, rape and persecution perpetrated by Moroccotowards millions of Saharawis. In this sense, the anarcho-syndicalistorganization has recalled that this conflict is, according to the United Nations, the second oldest after the Palestinian one.CGT accuses the Sánchez Executive of basing its foreign policy on the blackmailthat the Alawite kingdom constantly exercises towards the Spanish State. CGTexplains that a country that does not guarantee human rights cannot, under anycircumstances, be a guarantor of our borders, as is being demonstrated by thereality of externalizing them on the southern border. Finally, from CGT they have underlined that Spanish citizens -and the workingclass especially-, have been widely against this position of the SpanishGovernment in relation to the situation in Western Sahara. Theanarcho-syndicalists consider that the Sánchez government is also betraying thevery people it claims to "represent".CGT has closed the statement indicating that they have begun to study thepossibility of carrying out legal actions that allow defending the right ofWestern Sahara to its own self-determination, in order to demand from the SpanishState responsibilities as a decolonizing power of this territory. From CGT they make a call to support and participate in all actions carried outin campaigns of international solidarity with the Saharawi people, and rememberthat the struggle of these people is for life and dignity.More information: Rosa Becerro (Sª Acción Social de CGT) 616 868 369.Macarena Amores GarciaPress office of the Confederal Committee of the CGTGeneral Confederation of Labor - CGTC/Sagunto 15, 1º28010 MadridTel. 91 447 57 69Mobile 690 640 826cabinetprensa@cgt.org.es_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.caSPREAD THE INFORMATION
