completely disregarding the oppressive colonialist context under which they were
imposed upon us by our staunchest enemies. ---- We're living in a chaotic
society, one in which so-called saviors take up the path of our oppressors. As
for us, we seek liberation amidst today's chaos. When we speak of liberation, we
do not speak of liberating one another, but one's ability to liberate themselves
from coercion and social contracts with the State. This liberation paves the way
for the freedom of both human and non-human animals. We seek physical and mental
freedom from the shackles of hierarchy and authority. Freedom from the dominion
of the State that murders us, freedom from the dominion of authoritarian
religious structures that enslave us, freedom from the dominion of the patriarchy
that oppresses us, and freedom from capitalism and property that destroy us along
with the ecosystem.

The key to find order within the chaos lies behind one philosophical and one
political movement: Anarchism.

democracy is thus no more than a bourgeois
dictatorship masked under an illusion of free
choice and a set of limited liberties that will
only be granted to us so long as they don't
threaten the status-quo.

On the other hand, we believe that a free
anarchist territory should operate through a
horizontal hierarchical structure and
participatory democracy. Both of which
empower the individual and the collective,
and at Kafeh we practice what we preach.

For learning through praxis gives us the
ability to adapt and contextualize anarchist
theory. And while many critics claim
Anarchism is an imported ideology based on
"western" historical and material conditions,
we, on the contrary, see in it a rejection of
the western liberalism that has been imposed
upon us through violence and coercion.
Hence anarchism serves as our pathway out
of this oppressive model of society.
Kafeh's organizational structure follows the
aforementioned horizontal model, yet it is
not fixed - we constantly restructure in
response to the fascist political climate that
engulfs us. It is worth a mention that this
specific model is just one of the many that a
stateless territory may adopt.

First and foremost, Kafeh is an anarchist
haven - a safe space for all comrades to
come together, build trust, and form strong
connections. Empathy is at the CORE of the
work that we do. Empathy allows us to
elegize one another and drives us to achieve
collective autonomy through community-
based and mutual aid projects. Empathy is
essential to our purpose. And what is our
purpose?

Our purpose is to pose as an alternative to
the current system which indoctrinates the
youth into nationalism and power structures.
Our purpose is to inject the anarchist
mindset into Lebanese society. Our purpose
is to develop syndicates and unions that
empower the people to break free from the
shackles of the State. Our purpose is to build
the necessary foundation to abolish all
current, and future, authority by creating
decentralized dual-power structures. Our
purpose is to engage in effective direct-
action to spread our message. Our purpose is
to connect, exchange information and
resources, and stand in solidarity with our
comrades around the globe. Our purpose is
to physically and mentally prepare for
violent resistance. Our purpose for
emancipation is but a matter of time.

Ultimately, Kafeh is based on the following
10 core principles:

Radicalism: Fundamental change of existing
political, social, and economic structures
through revolutionary means.

Autonomy: The ability to make informed
decisions uncoerced, and free from all forms
of authority. Autonomy allows for the
creation of spaces that are independent of
the oppressive and authoritarian structures
of the State and of Capitalism by building a
network of sustainable political, social and
economic alternatives through direct
democracy and mutual aid.

Solidarity: Solidarity is a collective
responsibility where multiple people with
similar ideologies stand united to support a
political cause (such as the fight against
oppression). However, Anarchist solidarity
is more nuanced. An anarchist individual or
group MAY be in solidarity with an
oppressed community in need even if we are
not in perfect agreement with the people's
ideology. Humanitarian needs are more
important than the ideological agenda. It is
not a charity but a moral duty, and a practice
for the future anarchist society (we don't
expect solidarity in return).

Direct Action: Targeted, political actions
carried out by an individual or groups that
seek to disrupt the status quo and encourage
people to take power for themselves, outside
the legitimacy of any authority.

Mutual aid: An independent, social
solidarity practice aimed at mobilizing
people to empower vulnerable communities,
once again outside the approval of any form
of authority. Mutual aid is a form of direct
action.

Participatory democracy: A horizontal
hierarchical model in which the people have
the collective power to make direct political,
social, and economic decisions.

Intersectionality: First coined by civil rights
activist Kimberlé Crenshaw in 1989,
intersectionality has evolved into a
framework that views discrimination
(gender, class, sexuality, race, ability,
culture, species) as a compound experience
and not a sum of its parts. Oppression is
never singular, and the intersectionality lens
allows for the inclusivity of all identities. It
has been adopted by political movements
such as intersectional feminism and
intersectional veganism.

Class war: Liberation of communities from
capitalism and authority. The goal is to
annihilate the political, social, and economic
class system.

Ecologism: A philosophy and political
ideology that emphasizes the inclusion of
non-human animals and nature in all social,
economic, and political decisions. It rejects
anthropocentric values and advocates for the
transformation of the destructive
relationship between humans and non-
human animals and nature.

Internationalism: The cooperation and
collaboration of different individuals/groups
across different territories to combat all
forms of oppression.
