 Coalitions, common appeals, decentralized actions... In recent months, local

struggles have multiplied shared initiatives and large-scale exchanges. A
proliferation rich in perspectives offering new political spaces for ecological
struggles. ---- Everything often starts right there, close to home. It is the
road that will rip up the hill, a giant golf project, hillside reservoir, ZAC on
agricultural land... "Small projects" if you look at them from afar, but which
add up in the same logic of growth through destruction. Local projects, fought by
local struggles, carried by a galaxy of associations and collectives, mobilized
as much by other visions of the world as other visions of the inhabited
territory. Because these "development" projects, systematically presented as "in
the interest of the inhabitants", are always a confiscation, an authoritarian
modification of the modes of living to convert an original place into a zone
based on the production machine.

The local roots of these struggles are their strength. It could also be a
weakness if they remained confined to neighborhood struggles. However, these
struggles multiply meetings and decentralized actions, whether the Days against

At the same time, through the encounters they promote, the diversity of
experiences combine to produce a renewed analysis of capitalism in its most
precise functioning. Each struggle, on its own terrain - road, agro-industrial,
tourism, energy project, etc. - dissects a part of the system and reveals the
skeleton that underlies the whole. During the coordinations, these parts come
together in a puzzle that does not stem from pre-written theories but from a
mosaic of analyzes based on concrete experiences. The productivist capitalist
system is then revealed as much in its entirety as in its real and immediate
implementation. At the same time, the struggles feed on each other, without
seeking standardization. We do together at the same time as we continue to do at
home, in our own way.

This is the path taken by La déroute des routes, for example, a coalition of
collectives against road projects born last spring, and which has just launched a
call for a moratorium on the abandonment of road projects. Another example, these
27 collectives of the Occitanie region, which published in June a common forum
against the "major projects" carried out by local elected officials.

Thanks to these multiple networks, local struggles renew discourses and practices
from the base, and build the opportunity to raise systemic demands thought from
the field and its diversity.
