Rebellion doesn't happen because you don't become the rebellion you expect ----
One of the dominant narratives these days in the various social media, in thevarious discussions in social circles and politicized groups is that there is no"rebellion" due to the origin of the 16-year-old Kostas who was shot in coldblood by EL.AS bastards. This point of view was also reproduced at the level ofpolitical positions of collectives and organizations on the occasion of theSabani assassination and is generally a point of view supported by many. Theproblem with this view lies not with those who support it while at the same timeheeding the calls for outrage and effectively spreading the message of "rebellionnow" but with those who justify their own apathy by passively lamenting the factthat "there is no rebellion" by throwing responsibility to others. Andunfortunately the bitter truth is that the vast majority of those who complainabout "no rebellion" are protesting either online or from the comfort of thesofa. He is protesting that he was not present at the reflexive spontaneousdemonstration that took place on December 5th that had only a few hundred people, while he was not at the barricades of the 6of December and while he has nointention of throwing himself into a battle without tomorrow to become themselvesthe answer to apathy, the rebellion they expect. If all those who comment anddamn the passivized vacuity took to the streets, if they used the time they spendon fucking social media to organize, fight and clash with the paid guards of thestate, then things would be very different.Riots are not done by racistsThe racists who today applaud the bastards of the police are the same ones whowonder 14 years later "what Grigoropoulos did in Exarchia". If the youngercomrades or the passivated bloggers and fbukists think that the 2008 uprisinginvolved bipeds of this cut, or that Alexis's background contributed to thesocial upheaval, they are inevitably wrong, just as they are wrong if they thinkthat the 08 uprising had universal acceptance, which today it would not happenbecause Kostas is Roma. The social phenomenon "insurgency" is much more complexthan simplistic approaches presented as claims as to why it does not break out.Surely, however, riots are not done by racists. These humanoids are native to the ideological mechanisms of the system that weshould not concern ourselves with their insignificance at the moment. They arenot regulators of developments, nor is the social majority. Moaning about whatall sorts of far-rights say only succeeds in projecting their insignificance asdominant and at the same time justifying the apathy of those who do not intend torebel. The best answer to all kinds of racists at the given moment is for Kostasto play the role of anger and not misanthropy. The best answer lies exclusivelyin the streets, in the centers of struggle, in aggressive initiatives, in socialactions that spread the message of "rebellion". It's a response that blamesanti-racist people, not racist misogynists. The origin of Kostas is of no importanceThe fact that Kostas is Roma may or may not have played a decisive role for thecop who shot him, as it is not only Roma who are unarmed who are shot after beingchased by the murderous uniformed scum. But this is not the center of theheadline, nor is it the setting aside of the problems of the Roma and what theysuffer through social marginalization, poverty and state indifference that shapetheir living conditions. The point is to escape from the logic that deadens theexisting insurrectionary prospects, which is hetero-determined by how socialracism perceives the lives of Roma, presenting it as the "key" element to whatwill happen and what is happening. From December 08 to December 2022In December 2008, a different origin of Alexis could not have changed the courseof events, in the same way that today the origin of Kostas is not the dominantparameter. Let's put it even more bluntly: if Kostas was not a Roma, we might noteven have on the streets what the Roma communities are doing today in the contextof their indisputable rebellion, which is in force. Things could have been a lotworse so let's stop making excuses. The 2008 uprising found many Roma communities on its side. Isolated from thegeneral wave of rebellion in most cases, but on the same side. In our ownneighborhoods, in the western suburbs of Athens, the attack e.g. of Roma in A.T.of Menidi during the events of 2008 was one of the most intense. With molotovcocktails and fireworks they almost blew it up and were in the limelight in thosedays. They attacked for Alexis who was not Roma. They attacked because they knowthe rottenness of the Greek police. They attacked, because, as we said: riots arenot done by racists. The reason why there is no rebellion today is embedded in power relations andpathologies that are not the time to analyze, because now it is important to jumpinto battle. Undoubtedly, the social conditions in December 2008 were verydifferent from what they are today and that is where the "key" element lies, i.e.in the interpretation of the conditions and the causes that shape them and not inthe origin of Kostas Fragoulis. It's battle timeWhen the state shoots in cold blood for 20 euro gas or because of a racistmotive, it is not the time for analyses. It's battle time. It is time for rage tospeak. We must therefore respond to the totality of spontaneous or organizedcalls regardless of the degree of agreement with the analyzes they express if wereally want to respond appropriately. The expression of anger is not at themoment a stake in finding the right political formula. Disagreements within thevarious social and class fields of struggle where competing considerations andtactical or strategic goals are involved clearly determine and must determine onthe basis of criteria whether or not to respond to calls to mobilization based onwho issues them. But now it doesn't matter who calls unless they serve their ownpolitical agendas that are at odds with the necessity of expressing anger (egKKE, social democrats, opportunists). Those calls that are targeted to answerstate murder, regardless of the reason they utter, must find immediate responseand support. After all, anyone who wants can call with their own politicalcharacteristics. The process of rebellion itself is a primarily social process to which thepolitical follows. If you look for the political at that time, you will eitherstay away from the facts, or be discredited by the facts themselves, or becomepart of the blame for the non-existence of facts. How you are politically, organizationally, kinetically, at the moment of a battle is determined before it.At the time of the battle, you throw yourself into it without turning, withoutlooking for the right frames, without counting anything. It is your value andsocial obligation to pour out into the streets and respond. Everything else issecondary.Let's take initiativesIn order to ignite an insurrectionary movement of anger that will responddynamically to the assassination attempt of Kostas Fragoulis, initiatives must betaken, spontaneous insurrectionary creation must be released, we must mobilizeand respond to all the calls as well as take care of their dissemination andenrichment . Costas Fragoulis is currently alive and the bet of answers to cutthe wings of state authoritarianism and police indiscipline is still open. If amovement of rage breaks out in the next 24 hours in the streets, which isentirely the responsibility of thousands of people who want it but do not show itin practice, then a lot can change in the next period at the social level butalso at the level of power relationships, at least in the part that concerns theroads and state repression. If there is no mass and militant mobilization, thingswill get worse.Let's leave fatalism and individualismLet us hope that the appropriate answers will be given and first and foremostthat Kostas Frangoulis lives. Let's hope there aren't people waiting for a16-year-old to pass away to answer the bullets he took. If there are, apart fromthe fact that we will have been defeated first of all as a society, what iscertain is that they will still not take to the streets but will wait for othersto take to the streets. And when they realize that "others" are not enough for arebellion to happen, instead of at least applauding those who came out, they willagain complain that "a rebellion doesn't happen because society is fucked" (andMitsotakis, of course, let's not forget).M.https://anarchism.espivblogs.net/2022/12/11/skepseis-ep-aformis-tis-apopeiras-dolofonias-toy-16chronoy-kosta-fragkoyli/_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.caSPREAD THE INFORMATION
