On Friday, December 23, a demonstration against the murderous state was held in
Agios Anargyros following a call by the Anarchist Initiative of Agios Anargyros -Kamateros and comrades/equals from the western districts. The demonstration wasorganized in response to the state murder of Kostas Fragoulis who was shot in thehead by a uniformed assassin of the DIAS group on December 5th and his death wasofficially announced on December 13th. ---- The demonstration started from thesquare of Agioi Anargyri with the participation of 100 comrades/equals crossingthe central streets of the area with many slogans and a strong pulse. Throughoutthe march, they shared texts and threw trivia both about the state murder ofKostas Fragoulis, and in solidarity with fellow hunger-thirst striker ThanosHatziangelou and the anarchist hunger striker in Italian dungeons Alfrento Cospito.The march was followed until its end by 2 khaki mat platoons assisted by anunprecedented number of police forces of all kinds, consisting of policeofficers, OPKE and motorized assault battalions that had overwhelmed AgioiAnargyros and the central square from early on where the demonstration began. Infact, according to information given to us by comrades, before the gathering,checks were carried out around the square and possibly approaches to Hasias-FylisStreet where uniformed ruffians of ELAS were camped.Despite the police cordon, the demonstration took place and ended successfully,contributing to a degree to the further highlighting of the state murder ofKostas Fragoulis. In this context, we positively assess the demonstration and theactions that preceded it for its propaganda, which were a means of promoting notonly the demonstration as such, but the necessity that the murder of KostasFrangoulis not go unanswered. By extension, we positively value the fact that oldand new comrades from the western suburbs, from anarchist collectives, socialventures/occupations and student groups have collaborated for its implementation,opening avenues of competitive cooperation in view of what is to come and whatwill be we are called to face in the midst of the social and class war that israging.On the other hand, refusing to see things through a self-referential microcosm,we do not hide that we would like this demonstration to be part of widerprocesses, as an organic part of a more general uprising that unfortunately didnot take place, being a point of local grounding and diffusion of the ofreactions to the cold-blooded state murder of Kostas Frangoulis and therefore, tobe more massive and conflict-oriented. But the development of events, with thede-massification and the end of the central mobilizations already in the previousdays, the impossibility of a collective, organized, kinetic confrontation withthe state forces and a multitude of other factors that for years now prevent theleap from "space" to a movement do not they allowed us to have greater claims interms of attendance, and even more so for the characteristics of the course.We believe that what was done and what was not done to respond to the statemurder of Kostas Frangoulis should be the subject of political investigation andaccount, criticism and self-criticism, forward thinking and dialecticalovercoming of mistakes and inadequacies if we want to move forward and change thecorrelations. So that we don't get used to death and cold-blooded murders aren'tnormalized.
