Feedback on a public discussion. ----The local group from UCL Montreuil, the Île de France committee of EarthUprisings and the "Political Meetings" collective together organized aday of meetings and debates on unionism in the struggle. On this occasion, a workshop on the theme "unionism and anti-patriarchalstruggles" was led by members of the Collectif Queers Parlons Travail(QPT) and brought together people from different backgrounds (XR, UCL,CNT, Solidaires, CGT ...).It allowed us to discuss the reasons why so few women and queers joinunions. Thus, it was mentioned that the organization of work is mainlyadapted to cis men (organization of schedules, articulation with theeducation of children, feelings of competence, working atmosphere). Itis also difficult to organize in precarious sectors where queers arevery present. LGBTI spaces are used to escape from daily difficulties,we talk about sexuality but not work. Finally, queers invest little insociability at work because colleagues reproduce oppressiveheteronormative patterns and discriminatory behaviors.Invent other demandsSome ideas to help organize women and queers have been put forward: -during strike periods: intervene in so-called "feminized" sectors and nolonger focus only on sectors considered to block the economy; - moveaway from the usual demands: the formula "equal pay for equal work" doesnot cover the complexity of structural inequalities; - fight againstsexist and LGBTIphobic atmospheres at work and in our unions; - changethe level of struggle, focusing on the local level, which promotes theconsideration of isolated workers.During the workshop, certain subjects were debated because opinionsdiverged, in particular on the question of pedagogy to the dominant, or"deconstruction of gender" workshops which can be empowering on anindividual basis but do not call into question the structures materialsof oppression. Finally, to move forward concretely, QPT wishes to bringforward a joint demand project for March 8: asking for public servicecrèches. This demand thus makes it possible to address questions of thedistribution of labor, working conditions in the early childhood sector, feminized sectors, the domination of adults over children, particularlyqueer children, and collective activist practices. However, this projectwas not unanimous. On the one hand because few of the participantsseemed directly concerned by the issue of childcare. But also because such a demand as part of Women's Rights Day seemed, forsome, to reduce women to motherhood and their role as "reproductive". Inorder to continue the discussion, QPT will organize a first informationmeeting on this demand on November 30 at the Paris Labor Exchange (to beconfirmed).Laz (UCL Montreuil)https://www.unioncommunistelibertaire.org/?Femmes-et-LGBTI-repenser-nos-pratiques-syndicales_________________________________________A - I N F O S  N E W S  S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.ca
