We know that the massacre taking place today in Gaza and the West Bankstarted from the "casus belli" provided by Hamas with the attack ofOctober 7th. We also know that this wicked murderous act certainly didnot arise out of nowhere, but fits fully into the framework of the warsthat are redefining the international geopolitical chessboard.Responsible for the continuous violence that continues relentlessly inPalestine is the fascist and racist policy of the Israeli state, whichfor decades has practiced a ferocious apartheid against the Palestinianpopulations, and for years has cyclically bombed the territory of Gaza, massacring defenseless civilians in the silence of the rest of theworld. Policy supported and legitimized by the United States and Europe, which consider Israel as the pivot of their hegemonic aims in the MiddleEast. It is to further their goals that every day the Palestinianpopulation, in Gaza as in the West Bank, is subjected to arbitraryactions, murders, violence, expropriations of land, harassment of allkinds by the Israeli government and the settlers, incited and armed bysame government that uses them for the dirtiest jobs of ethnic cleansing. And let it be clear that it is not acceptable for us to define, asunfortunately some do, the Hamas attack on 7 October, which massacredhundreds of unarmed civilians, as an "act of resistance". We considerHamas for what it is: a reactionary and medieval force, made up ofreligious fanatics who in their statute define the French and Russianrevolutions as Jewish conspiracies. A force that has behind it some ofthe most reactionary states in the world: from the petro-monarchy ofQatar, to the Iran of the Ayatollahs who torture and kill women withoutveils, to Erdogan's Turkey which massacres the Kurdish people and triesto suffocate the revolutionary experience of Rojava. On the other hand, the Netanyahu government uses Hamas as a bogeyman to fuel itscolonization plans after, many years ago, other Israeli governmentsfinanced Hamas to divide the Palestinian front in opposition to Al-Fatahand the PLO.Unleashed by the October 7 attack, today Israel's exterminating fury haslost all remaining restraint. The incessant bombings that have beengoing on in Gaza for a month and a half with unprecedented violence, nowreinforced by the army invasion, are transforming a territory where twomillion two hundred thousand human beings live into an enormous killingfield. The dead cannot be counted, and after all it makes no sense tocount them. It is not because of the number of deaths, but because ofthe methods of the massacre, that we can speak of genocide. In all of this, there are people who don't fit. Who reject the logic ofhatred. Who refuse to be drafted. Who fight against Hamas AND thegovernment of Israel. Who fight Zionist fanaticism AND Islamicfanaticism, and have been doing so for years, and sometimes together.Refusenik, Anarchists Against the Wall, ordinary citizens. These peopleunderstood which side the enemy is on. He finds himself on the side ofthose in command, of those who incite hatred, of those who perpetuatemassacres to perpetuate themselves, of those who use this terribletragedy for their own geopolitical aims. They know that the enemy is notthe Palestinian, it is not the Jew. The enemies, the enemies of all areIsrael, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the United States, the European Union,Turkey, Qatar, Arabia, and whoever caused the shedding of a single dropof blood to gain a paltry advantage. If one day things change it will be because these people, after havingdenounced and silenced those who committed horrible crimes in theirname, will build a different society together. We do not believe in thefairy tale of "two peoples and two states". We are anarchists, afterall. States only serve to reproduce logics of power and oppression, ofwar and exploitation. What is needed is a stateless society, without theneed for the corrupt governments of the PA or the murderous governmentsof Hamas and Israel. Federations of free communities organized on class,non-religious and non-ethnic bases.Wishful thinking? A utopia? Perhaps. But it's not worth fighting foranything less. In Palestine and everywhere.REGGIAN ANARCHIST FEDERATION - LIBERTARIAN ALTERNATIVE REGGIO EMILIA_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.ca
