Today we would like to introduce you to the book "Anarchism in Latin
America". ---- This work was first published in Spanish in 1990. Itsauthor, the Argentinian Ángel J. Cappelletti, provides a large overviewof the history of anarchism in Latin America from the movement'semergence in the late 19th century, through its heyday in the early 20thcentury to the years after the Second World War Anarchism had lost muchof its former influence on the workers' movement. ---- Cappellettidevotes a separate chapter to each country. He traces the involvement ofthe anarchists in the emerging workers' movement, tells stories ofuprisings and repressions, of successes and defeats. He pays particularattention to the libertarian press landscape. For anarchists who want todeal with the history of the movement in Latin America, Cappelletti'swork is an indispensable knowledge resource.Unfortunately, to date there is no translation of Cappelletti's work inGerman. At least an English version has now been published by AK Press. It can be purchased from the comrades at Black Mosquito, among others.https://www.dieplattform.org/2023/12/01/literaturempfehlung-hinterwald/#more-2778_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.ca
