America". ---- This work was first published in Spanish in 1990. Its
author, the Argentinian Ángel J. Cappelletti, provides a large overview
of the history of anarchism in Latin America from the movement's
emergence in the late 19th century, through its heyday in the early 20th
century to the years after the Second World War Anarchism had lost much
of its former influence on the workers' movement. ---- Cappelletti
devotes a separate chapter to each country. He traces the involvement of
the anarchists in the emerging workers' movement, tells stories of
uprisings and repressions, of successes and defeats. He pays particular
attention to the libertarian press landscape. For anarchists who want to
deal with the history of the movement in Latin America, Cappelletti's
work is an indispensable knowledge resource.

Unfortunately, to date there is no translation of Cappelletti's work in
German. At least an English version has now been published by AK Press.
