it is difficult to write these lines. The anarchist collective
Glitzerkatapult is disbanding - although we as individuals will of
course continue to be politically active. ---- A brief summary of the
last few years: ---- Our collective has existed for almost 10 years. We
have been a group that has been larger or smaller, but over all these
years we have consistently organized events, given lectures and
workshops in many different cities, discussed anarchism with interested
parties and critics at information tables, written and distributed
flyers, designed stickers, held solidarity events for comrades,
organized the evening of variety at the beginning (our anarchist bar
from which our collective emerged) and much more.
Over all these years we have also argued internally in solidarity, said
goodbye to many companions from the group and welcomed new comrades to
the collective. Throughout all this time we have remained true to our
most important values, (anarcha)feminism, animal liberation, radical
ecology and anarchism.
Of course we have also repeatedly reconsidered our positions, reassessed
them and thrown out theories that we no longer found tenable.
Nevertheless, we have always been very clear in our political struggle.
In short: We think we have achieved a lot over the years and contributed
our ideas and thoughts.
Unfortunately, we have now reached a point where we are too few people.
Some accomplices have left the group for various reasons. Unfortunately,
bringing in new people has not worked well in recent years.
In addition, we have also partly grown apart politically. In general, we
have recently managed to discuss good compromises for everyone, but we
have also noticed in individual cases how exhausting and energy-sapping
these negotiation processes can be. Now we are exhausted by it - and
have had to accept that we as a group can no longer continue like this.
It is perhaps significant that we continued to be very active until
shortly before the dissolution. In the last three months alone, we have
organized a discussion meeting and a very successful solidarity bingo,
as well as given two lectures in other cities (Munich and Leipzig) and
set up an information table at the environmental festival.
Leaving this time behind us and giving up this group is not easy for us.
Quite the opposite.
We would like to thank all the companions, comrades and groups that we
have gotten to know and worked with over the years. Thank you for the
time we spent together.
Our paths part here.
In solidarity and sadness,
