eyes. At the time of writing, the number of Gazans killed by Israel
stood at 40,543. To these figures must be added about 10,000 missing
(most are understood to be found dead) and 92,401 injured in Gaza, as
well as the forced displacement of 1,900,000 residents of the Strip. In
addition, another 632 Palestinians were killed, 5,400 wounded, and
10,100 arrested in the West Bank; in Lebanon, 534 people were killed and
90,000 were displaced; and in Syria, about 220 lost their lives at the
hands of Zionist forces. The dead included about 17,000 children, 885
health workers, 254 aid workers (188 from UNRWA) and 168 journalists.

Faced with international complicity in the Palestinian genocide, the CGT
union accepted a petition from Palestinian trade unionists and called
for a general strike on September 27: "The actions of both the current
and previous governments are shameful; no sanctions of any kind were
applied to trade with the Zionist state, just as the purchase and sale
of weapons to Israel intensified. The recognition of a Palestinian state
by the current government is still a symbolic act, the purpose of which
is to demobilize various trade union and social actions, thereby
delaying the implementation of real measures.

The CGT demands that the Spanish government immediately sever
diplomatic, commercial and military relations with Israel, recognize and
protect the right of return for all Palestinian refugees, and that all
necessary measures be put in place to end the occupation of the Zionist

governments, and heeding the call of the Palestinian workers, we call
