Good morning,
While US citizens head to the polls on 5 November, in Brussels, the focus this week will also be on the hearings of commissioners designates, starting on Monday (4 November) and running until next Tuesday (12 November).
During the hearings, which will each last about three hours, candidates have to show their suitability and knowledge of the portfolios they've been assigned, responding to questions from MEPs. Von der Leyen hopes to present her new commission by
EUobserver will be covering the hearing live, so make sure to tune in.
