At our demonstration "All together against fascism" on January 27th,
there was another case of repression. Many of the demo participants willprobably still remember: Our demonstration stopped for over half an hour
and showed solidarity with the person concerned. Here, too, the person
concerned received a penal order (judgment without a court hearing). The
anti-fascist is accused of insult, threat, resistance against police
officers and physical assault against police officers. Here, too, the
accusations are far-fetched. ---- What happened? ---- On January 27th,
our demonstration also passed by the right-wing radical fraternity
Arkadia. A chain of police officers was stationed in front of the
fraternity. As the person concerned walked along the sidewalk in front
of the fraternity as part of the demonstration, one of the police
officers pushed him onto the street. A few minutes later - the
demonstration had moved on in the meantime - police officers stormed
into the demonstration, pulled the anti-fascist out of the demo and
brutally pushed him against a house wall. The person concerned asked the
police officers what this was all about, and they shouted at him to lie
down. One of the police officers hit the anti-fascist's knee several
times. He was detained for over 15 minutes, his personal details were
taken and the cops ordered him to leave the area. The police accuse the
person concerned of having resisted this arrest. They had verbally asked
him to come with them - a lie. It is not a new method for the police to
pull people out of demonstrations in a raid and then interpret and
report every supposed reaction as resistance and physical attack. To top
it all off, an alleged use of the informal form of address is also
interpreted as an insult. It is said to have violated the police
officers' honor. The anti-fascist is to pay a fine of EUR3,600 and
receive a criminal record - i.e. an entry in his criminal record.
We as the campaign "Take the space away from the right" stand in
solidarity with the accused anti-fascist. We demand that further
repression against anti-fascists in Osnabrück be stopped. Come to the
court hearing on Tuesday, November 5th, 2024. Meeting point: 8:15 a.m.
in front of the Osnabrück District Court.
