conditions.

At the same time, however, we must also be aware of the tasks of these
and other authorities such as the police:

According to the law, the population must constantly be divided into
people with and without residence permits. Registering these people,
organizing deportations, issuing residence permits or not, approving
social benefits essential to survival or not, these are among the tasks
of the authorities. In cooperation with the police and the employment
office, they enforce control over people without a German passport.

The political background to this logic of sorting and exclusion is
twofold - on the one hand, the state, as a monopolist of violence, wants
to exercise absolute control over who is on its territory. People who
are suspected of being loyal to other nation states are always suspect.

On the other hand, the state, which depends on the success of capital
growth in the national "location Germany", i.e. on how successful
companies are, carries out a calculation that can only be described as
"utility racism". People who are easily exploited by capital and are
considered "easily integrated" in the eyes of the dominant society, such
as well-trained but cheap skilled workers, should be allowed to come to
the country, while everyone else, no matter how great their need, should
in principle stay out.

This is the basis for the immigration authorities, regardless of whether
their employees perceive it that way or not. Of course, this logic also
translates into the corresponding individual behavior of the individual
employees of the immigration authorities and attracts corresponding
authoritarian characters. But if you think that the immigration
authorities are not doing their job properly when they treat people
without a German passport badly, bully them or deport them, we have to
say that this is part or consequence of their task. So if we want a
world without immigration authorities, then that means abolishing
capitalist nation states.

It is important to continue to scandalize the inhumane conditions and to
join anti-racist struggles. That is why we would like to point out the
work of Osnabrück organizations that face anti-racist struggles every
day and support people here in Osnabrück and in which you can get
