Everyday migrant phobia ---- We naively wanted to start this news with
the phrase "lately...", but as soon as we wrote it, we realized thatthis late time has never ended, and it will be difficult to find its
source. And the problem is not only in Russian imperialism.
Migrant-phobic sentiments are growing every day in the territory of,
probably, the entire world. ---- Quite terrifying footage was published
by "Caution News" from the Moscow airport, where hundreds of people are
being escorted through the airport for deportation. Such news,
unfortunately, is not uncommon, and pops up in one region controlled by
the Russian authorities, then in another.
And Russian nationalism is really triumphant now, not noticing and even
rejoicing that the Russian government is destroying the places they love
and consider "their country".
And you can't talk about nationalism without mentioning "Russian
communities". Activists attack "migrants", and they consider everyone
who looks a little less white than they do to be migrants. They are
engaged in terrorizing the population, blocking establishments, but,
basically, they occupy the niche that was previously occupied by Nazis
like Tesak and "Lev Protiv".
"Russian Community" is a project created by the state, but sometimes the
guys overdo it, and then the state itself begins to put pressure on
them. Chechen officials complained about them, and not long ago they
began to be checked for extremism.
In fact, the Nazis from the "Russian Community", the Nazis from "Eduard
Limonov's Other Russia" and others do not understand that "the
motherland will abandon you", and that they will continue to be
detained, beaten in police stations and given to Ramzan Kadyrov to be
devoured.
The "Buryat Community" looks very funny against this background. A
project that was born as a parody of the "Russian Communities", and
which shines through the disgustingness of nationalists of all stripes.
"Russian Vanya, get out of Buryatia" ...
And no. We do not advocate for national states. We are for friendship
between peoples, but for peoples to remain culturally and economically
independent from each other.
But while we are speaking out, the Nazis are building up their
institutions. They are arming themselves and learning to use weapons.
They are building their structures and institutions. They may not be
horizontal and there are oligarchs behind them, but they are showing
themselves in the media.
But they, just like us, continue to be arrested and jailed.
Arrests instead of bombs
Last Sunday, "Food instead of bombs" was held in Yekaterinburg. At the
end of the event, the Ministry of Internal Affairs officers approached
the organizers and detained the guys for "holding an uncoordinated event."
Two were released on the first day, the third was made an organizer and
given 9 days of arrest, the fourth was taken away from the department in
an unknown direction and released only after two days, all this time no
one could find him.
Most likely, the police really got excited by the phrase "Food instead
of bombs." But "Food not bombs" events have never been coordinated. They
do not need to be coordinated, and they do not fit the definition of a
public event. And the goal of "feeding the needy" is good. Even from the
point of view of the Russian authorities, this should be so.
But as in the case of "communities" - the initiative is punishable. The
authorities suppress everything that is not under their control.
Such arrests should not frighten us. Even from the point of view of the
disgusting Russian legislation, this is a legal way of decentralized
public organization. Unfortunately, in Irkutsk, "Food Not Bombs" has not
been held for a long time. But such initiatives allow us to establish a
connection with the community and strengthen horizontal ties.
Horizontal ties are quite important in general. Also important is the
connection with the society that we, as it seems, should protect, and of
which we should be a part. But today we are in a marginal state, in
which we cannot organize either ourselves or the people.
Perhaps we should pay a little more attention to the small and
widespread problems of people.
Housing is recognized as illegal and unsafe. We will take it away from you
For example, in Irkutsk, an entire apartment building is being evicted.
Someone from the building is going to self-organize and fight.
A similar problem is quite common in Irkutsk and the region, when
developers build a house, people buy an apartment in it at the
construction stage, and after some time a problem with the legality of
the house construction arises. Developers do not bear the corresponding
responsibility, and all the consequences are blamed on the residents of
the house.
And okay, if people bought an apartment in order to rent it out, and
have a second or third home. But often such a house can be the only one.
One of the contributions for a new apartment can be money from the sale
of their only home. Which may be smaller and not suitable for the
required number of people.
Naturally, developers usually do not pay anything, and people are
deprived of permanent and their own shelter and move into temporary
housing, which often does not meet the needs of a person. People can
return to the situation they tried so hard to escape from, only this
time they may have additional loans and no confidence in the future.
The state is the opposite of stability. The state will always sell you
out and screw you over at any moment if it sees that it is allowed to do
so and that it will not suffer any damage.
We could move towards criticizing the idea of ownership. Say that
ownership is theft, and so on. This would be a good topic, but, as they
say, another time.
One of the solutions to the "housing issue" within the framework of
modern society could be the idea that ideological collectives that would
be anarchist would start building apartments and houses. But this
requires resources and skills for organizing on a larger scale than we
have now.
Shall we work on this?
Well, that's all for today! We remind you that in "Trends of Order and
