WORLD WORLDWIDE US USA - New York NY - New York City NYC - THE CITY - Everything to know about housing vouchers.
Dear New Yorkers
Housing vouchers are a central tool in the city’s efforts to solve the housing crisis.
But for many New Yorkers, the problem isn’t applying for assistance, but what comes next: finding an apartment, securing the voucher and guarding against discrimination by landlords.
We won’t sugarcoat it: this process is long and challenging. Advocates, tenants and real estate agents alike describe the process of acquiring CityFHEPS as frustrating and demoralizing.
But, at the end of the journey, many New Yorkers are able to find housing at a genuinely affordable price point.
Overnight showers and morning clouds give way to a mostly clear and sunny day. High temperatures reach the mid-to-upper 60s.

Switch replacement work in the mornings may slow down A, C, B, and D trains near 59th Street-Columbus Circle this week, and more. Find all the MTA’s planned changes and the latest delays here.
The mayor’s romantic partner, Tracey Collins, has retired from her $253,000-per-year job at the Education Department after a former department employee tipped off city investigators that Collins “has had a no show job.” The former employee claimed Collins had not come to work since last Thanksgiving.
On Friday, state Attorney General Letitia James’ office said that after a four-year review, it would not bring criminal charges against former NYPD officer Ceasar Munoz, who killed a 20-year-old girl after speeding through a red light while responding to an emergency. Munoz was forced to retire from the department last year; a report by the Office of Special investigations said it could not prove beyond reasonable doubt that Munoz had committed a crime.
