WORLD WORLDWIDE EUROPE FRANCE - news journal UPDATE - (en) France, OCL CA #351 - What is the Becs Rouges? (ca, de, fr, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

We are publishing the presentation of a collective initiative active in

Alsace, whose work and conferences are a source of information as well
as enriching debates. The Becs Rouges is a constantly evolving activist
collective. Made up of citizens, whether or not they are members of
political parties (currently La France Insoumise, Les Écologistes, or
the French Communist Party), whether or not they are union members
(currently the CGT or Solidaires), some of them more or less
anarchistic, it has a little over a hundred members, including around
thirty regular members, a few curious people who seek information, and
others who help out occasionally. All forms of involvement are welcome,
regardless of intensity.

There is no hierarchy within the Becs Rouges, no leader within the
activist group. Decisions are made collectively. Whether you're a
veteran, a new member, an expert, a supporter, a novice, or an active
member, everyone has a voice, and each voice carries equal weight.
Everyone can put issues on the agenda. People belonging to collectives,
parties, unions, and associations are also free to inform others about
local and departmental activities at this level.
The Becs Rouges collective was created around the time of the 2022
legislative elections, when citizens, concerned about the rise of
right-wing and far-right ideas, came together to push for left-wing
candidates in the electoral districts of Haguenau and Wissembourg. After
the legislative elections, a core group decided to continue the fight
outside of the elections, with on-the-ground actions (making and putting
up posters, distributing leaflets), and the organization of conferences
and thematic events:
* On pensions (Bernard Friot)
* On parasitism by the upper middle class (Nicolas Framont)
* On the situation of exiles (with numerous associations)
* On money and its circulation (Cash Cash)
* On feminism (Alice Cappelle)
* On the coming communism (Bernard Friot)
* On the dangers of lithium and deep geothermal energy in Roeschwoog
(Guillaume Barjot)
* On domination at work (Nicolas Framont)
* On the Bundshuh* revolution (Georges Bischoff and Laurence De Cock)

At the same time, the collective also organizes internal training
sessions on fascism, gender-based and sexual violence (GBV), and IT
tools. After three years of existence and numerous changes, the
initiatives are growing and expanding. Numerous discussions on internal
structuring are underway and contribute to the collective life of the
activist network.

*Note from the CJ: this refers to the Peasants' War of the late 14th and
early 15th centuries, affecting the Holy Roman Empire and more
specifically Alsace in 1525 (an article will be devoted to it in the
next issue of CA).
