The war that has ravaged Sudan since April 2023 is not an isolated
conflict or a simple settling of scores between local factions. It is
the brutal and bloody expression of the perverse logic of the State and
Capital. While the war machine, fueled by geopolitical interests and the
greed of the arms industry, devours lives, the Sudanese people are
massacred, forcibly displaced, and condemned to starvation. The
Federalist Anarchist Union raises its voice to vehemently denounce this
carnage, the rotten fruit of a system that places power and profit above
human dignity. This war is clear proof that the State, far from being a
protector, is the primary driver of violence and exploitation.
Foreign interference in the conflict, with the supply of weapons and
training by nations such as the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Egypt, and
Italy, reveals the hypocritical and criminal nature of global
capitalism. These powers, regardless of their banners, are complicit in
the slaughter of thousands of civilians and the creation of a
humanitarian crisis that has already displaced more than 10 million
people. The state, in its local or international form, does not seek
peace; it commodifies war, transforming the suffering of the Sudanese
people into a bargaining chip to expand its spheres of influence and
accumulate wealth. The famine affecting more than half a million people
is not an accident, but a direct consequence of this economy of death.
However, even in the face of this curtain of fire and steel, the spark
of popular resistance has not been extinguished. Inspiring is the
courage of the Revolutionary Committees and the Sudanese Anarchist
Federation (S.A.F.), which, organized from the bottom up, face not only
the bullets of the belligerents, but also repression, torture, and
murder for daring to fight for peace and freedom. Their struggle is our
struggle. Their international solidarity campaign, which allows comrades
to escape and continue militant activity, is a practical example of the
mutualism and direct support we advocate, in stark contrast to the
self-serving "aid" of states.
This struggle in Sudan echoes our own battle against militarism here in
the territory dominated by the Brazilian state. The federalist strategy,
which aims to build bridges of solidarity between peoples beyond
state-imposed borders, is fundamental, since, while governments train
and arm factions to decimate populations, we anarchists build networks
of mutual support and popular resistance.
Therefore, we condemn the war in Sudan and everywhere as the gravest of
state and capitalist crimes. We affirm that the true solution will not
come from new governments or imperialist interventions, but from the
self-organization of the exploited, direct action, and internationalist
solidarity. To our Sudanese comrades, our deepest support and
commitment. To the oppressors, our most steadfast opposition. The future
does not belong to generals and capitalists, but to the people who, free
from state domination and the yoke of capital, organize themselves into
federations of free communities. For social liberation and the end of
all wars!
