As libertarian communist organizations from Switzerland (Midada), Germany (Die Plattform), and France (UCL), we stood alongside the Kurdish movement on January 10, 2016, in Paris for truth, justice, and freedom for the Kurdish people. ---- We marched for Fidan Dogan, Sakîne Cansiz, and Leyla Saylemez, killed in the heart of Paris on January 9, 2013, and for Emine Kara, Mîr Perwer, and Abdulrahman Kizil, murdered in front of the Kurdish cultural center. While racism and the far right are gaining ground in France, nothing is being done to lift the veil of secrecy surrounding these murders and bring justice to these six victims.
The autonomous administration of northeastern Syria in Rojava faces an existential threat. At the time of this newspaper's publication, it occupies only the besieged cantons of Kobani and Hasskyi. The territories liberated from ISIS by the Syrian Democratic Forces are once again under the control of jihadist militias affiliated with the Syrian government.
Let us act and demand justice and reparations for all the crimes committed by Erdogan's Turkish state and the Syrian government. In France, let us fight to ensure that arms companies, such as Thales, cease supplying weapons to Turkey. UCL will mobilize to ensure the triumph of the revolution of the people and women in Syria and Kurdistan!
Berxwedan jiyane! Jin jîyan azadî!
