These poor animals chose to FIGHT FOR THEIR LIVES!
With your support we will NEVER give up on an animal who needs us!
Dear friends,
Right now, at a small Community Care Station in South Africa, innocent animals are fighting for comfort, healing… and in some cases, survival.
And once again, Animals First Aid is standing in the gap
between suffering and hope.
Africa arrived first - his body covered in horrific infected wounds crawling with maggots after brutal fights with other males. The infection was so severe it threatened his life. He endured extensive treatment, wound cleaning, and castration in hopes of preventing further violence and injury. Today, thankfully, he is finally beginning to heal.
Then came Princess.
Sweet Princess was found injured on the streets, most likely after being struck by a car. Her shoulder was broken. Dr. Annie lifted her from the roadside and rushed her to the Care Station, where she was fitted with a cast and given the care she desperately needed. Against the odds, she is improving beautifully.
But the cases that are keeping us awake at night are little Roxy and Morgan.
Roxy is only about eight months old. Somehow, her hind leg was catastrophically cut by a bush cutter - nearly severing her hoof. When she arrived, blood was pouring from the wound. Michael Plaatjie, our dedicated community caregiver, managed to stop the arterial bleeding long enough for Dr. Annie to reach her.
