Avec la chaleur, on en oublie d'écrire des newsletters !
Les murs sont épais au Toots et on a le meilleur thé glacé maison de la rue, voire du centre-ville ! Il fait plus frais chez nous que dehors, ça c'est sûr.
Ce soir, après le piano-bar assuré par le jeune pianiste italien Marco Marcelletti, hommage à la légende des crooners Frank Sinatra par un autre crooner de légende, l'incomparable Andrew Bolton avec l'orchestre all-star maison. Dernière Juke Night de la saison !
Vendredi, un des talents les plus sûrs du jazz bruxellois, Martin Salemi, et son magnifique ensemble Daylight viendront nous régaler de mélodies limpides et de solos épiques. La late jam sera assurée par l'harmoniciste Olivier Vander Bauwde.
Samedi, c'est un autre pianiste qu'on adore qui vient présenter son nouvel album avec son groupe : Marsh V. Wouter Van den Broeck swingue comme personne et s'entoure d'une dream team pour servir ses compositions. La late jam avec le boss, Joachim Caffonnette.
Dimanche, Jasen Weaver viendra en trio jouer la musique de Thelonious Monk, et on terminera la semaine avec la première du nouveau quartet de l'excellent Matthias Van den Brande, avec notamment Bram De Looze au piano.
La canicule se supporte mieux avec un thé glacé ou un cocktail à la main en écoutant un bon concert de jazz à l'ombre de notre vieux troquet, croyez-moi !

Met dit warme weer vergeet je al snel een nieuwsbrief te schrijven!
De muren van Toots zijn dik en we maken de beste huisgemaakte ijsthee van de straat, misschien wel van het hele stadscentrum. Bij ons is het frisser dan buiten, dat is zeker.
Vanavond, na de piano-bar met de jonge Italiaanse pianist Marco Marcelletti, brengen we een hommage aan crooner-legende Frank Sinatra met een andere legende, de onvergelijkbare Andrew Bolton met het huisorkest. Laatste Juke Night van het seizoen!
Vrijdag brengt Martin Salemi, een van de meest betrouwbare talenten van de Brusselse jazzscene, zijn prachtig ensemble Daylight voor een avond vol heldere melodieën en epische solo's. De late jam is voor harmonicaspeler Olivier Vander Bauwde.
Zaterdag komt een andere pianist waar we dol op zijn zijn nieuw album voorstellen met zijn band Marsh V. Wouter Van den Broeck swingt als geen ander en omringt zich met een dream team om zijn composities tot leven te brengen. De late jam met de baas, Joachim Caffonnette.
Zondag komt Jasen Weaver in trio de muziek van Thelonious Monk spelen, en we sluiten de week af met de première van het nieuwe kwartet van de uitstekende Matthias Van den Brande, met onder anderen Bram De Looze op piano.
Geloof ons, een hittegolf is veel draaglijker met een ijsthee of cocktail in de hand, luisterend naar goede jazz in de koelte van ons oude stamcafé.

The walls are thick at Toots and we do the best homemade iced tea on the street, quite possibly in the whole city centre. It's cooler inside than out, that much is certain.
Tonight, following the piano-bar with young Italian pianist Marco Marcelletti, we pay tribute to crooner legend Frank Sinatra with another legend in his own right, the incomparable Andrew Bolton and the house all-star orchestra. Last Juke Night of the season!
Friday, one of Brussels jazz's most reliable talents, Martin Salemi, brings his magnificent ensemble Daylight for an evening of crisp melodies and epic solos. The late jam features harmonicist Olivier Vander Bauwde.
Saturday, another pianist we're rather fond of comes to present his new album with his band Marsh V. Wouter Van den Broeck swings like no other, surrounding himself with a dream team to serve his compositions. The late jam with the boss himself, Joachim Caffonnette.
Sunday, Jasen Weaver brings his trio to play the music of Thelonious Monk, and we close the week with the premiere of the excellent Matthias Van den Brande's new quartet, featuring Bram De Looze on piano.
Trust us, a heatwave is far more bearable with an iced tea or cocktail in hand, listening to good jazz in the cool of our old haunt.
