I think I've been to each of the previous seven Anarchist Book Fairs, and they were all fantastic days, especially during the peak of regional and national anarchist networking and organizing with the Anarchist Network Southwest* and the FdA. I'll be there again this year and I'm delighted that there were and are motivated people who make it possible! Long live anarchy! ---- Here's the editorial from the website: ---- Two years ago, the book fair was on the verge of being canceled because we simply didn't have enough people in the organizing group. But numerous people responded to our call and are helping to organize the book fair, so it can continue. This has led to some changes in the preparations for the book fair, but not so much in the actual running of the fair.
It all kicks off on Thursday evening with an opening event, followed by three days of trade fair activities and an extensive supporting program from Friday to Sunday. We are delighted that in 2026, numerous libertarian publishers and distributors will once again be exhibiting at our book fair, showcasing the breadth of anarchist publications. In addition, 26 lectures and workshops will offer opportunities for conversation and discussion.
With the book fair, we aim to present the diversity of anarchism, provide a forum for exchange within the libertarian movement, and simultaneously offer a broad audience the chance to become acquainted with anarchist perspectives. We have once again strived to put together a diverse program that sheds light on current issues, recounts the past from an anarchist perspective, and presents alternatives to the prevailing system.
As always, the fair is largely accessible. Fair trade coffee and delicious vegan dishes will also be available. This year, the Maulwürfe (Moles) from Freiburg will be cooking together with BlackWok from Dresden. Accommodation options are available, as usual, through the sleeping arrangements. Admission to the book fair is, of course, free.
Since the fair is primarily funded through donations, we'll be passing around a donation box at each event - but that doesn't mean a donation is expected for every event you attend. The kitchen collective also relies on donations. In addition, the Maulwürfe (Moles), BlackWok, and we ourselves would appreciate not only financial support but also hands-on help. If you'd like to help with chopping vegetables, selling drinks, or anything similar, please get in touch.
We look forward to seeing you at the book fair!
Freedom and happiness!
