State terrorism is escalating daily: from migrant concentration camps and murders at the borders, to the total devaluation of workers' lives, the dismantling of public health and education, the criminalization of social and class struggles, the suffocating control of universities, feminicides, the cover-up of trafficking and child abuse rings, state assassinations in Tempe and the systematic attempt to cover up crime. The state-capitalist system no longer has anything to promise beyond war, impoverishment, surveillance and death.

At the same time, states are feverishly arming themselves, preparing both interstate conflicts and internal social repression against the internal enemy, that is, against those who do not remain silent, do not consent, do not bow their heads. Against those who continue to fight for freedom, equality and life, for a world of solidarity and social self-organization.

The peak of this repressive strategy has always been the attack on squats and the anarchist movement as a whole. The state authorities know very well that the occupied spaces are not just buildings under occupation, but hotbeds of struggle, communities of resistance and social workshops where relationships of mutual aid, collective life and class counterattack are built. This is why they attempt to isolate them, slander them and ultimately evacuate them, within the framework of the strategy of preventive counterinsurgency.

The ongoing attack on the Occupied Refugee Community on Alexandra Avenue is part of this context. Under the pretext of redevelopment, the utilization of the buildings and social housing, the state, the Attica Region and its mechanisms are attempting to evacuate a vibrant self-organized community that has been housing hundreds of people, refugees, activists and social solidarity structures for years.

The programmatic contract for the "restoration" of four buildings and the announcement of multi-million euro projects constitute yet another attempt at state and capitalist restructuring of space, with the aim of clearing away social resistance and imposing a sterile model of life and housing management. While they are talking about social housing, they are attempting to uproot an already existing social housing community from below, a community that was built without the state, NGOs, sponsors and intermediaries.

At the same time, this conflict has reached a particularly acute point, as two hunger strikers from the Refugee Community continue a life-long struggle against the evacuation and destruction of the community. Aristotelis Chantzis has been on a multi-day hunger strike since February 5th, with his health having deteriorated dramatically and with repeated incidents of fainting and collapse, while another person, Suzon Doppagne, has gone on a hunger strike as a sign of solidarity and participation in the same struggle. Despite threats, ultimatums and continuous police terror operations, the struggles in the Refugee Community continue. The mass solidarity marches, public interventions, resistance actions and symbolic occupations against construction sites and evacuation plans show that nothing is over and that the social conflict remains open.

We are here to remind them again that our struggles have nothing to fear. The "ultimatums" are burning in the streets and the attacks of the uniformed scum who invade the Houses of Struggle in the dark of night will be met with reoccupations, reconstructions and mass clashes, under the light of day. In Prosfygika, as in every occupied space of struggle, we defend something much more than buildings: we defend the ability of those from below to organize their lives collectively, outside and against the institutions of power. The anarchist movement was born through relationships of mutual social assistance, developed and inspired with the weapon of solidarity and this remains its ideal and orientation for the society it envisions, for the world that will contain all worlds within it
