Another wave of drones headed towards Moscow overnight.
Russia said it downed over 400 overnight, including 56 en route to Moscow, and according to Zelensky, at least some have breached air defenses and struck a space communications node in Moscow.
And the situation is not exactly great in Russia as Ukraine continues pounding the fuel network – Putin also acknowledged that it is becoming a bit of a problem, as police are also deployed to gas stations nationwide to prevent riots. Zelensky also made fun of Putin’s failure to capture the Donetsk region, having shifted the deadlines a total of 15 times.
Meanwhile, the situation with Belarus remains tense – while Kyiv says Minsk’s shutting down the drone repeaters has helped curb Shahed flights, it also confirms the construction of a defense line in the Chernihiv region bordering Belarus, as Minsk warns Kyiv of a “full-scale response” should things get out of control.
That said, Lukashenko went to China to meet Xi Jinping – which is an interesting development in itself considering how Beijing, at the UN, also called for peace talks between Kyiv and Moscow around the same time.
Otherwise, some other stories of interest today include a Putin-linked superyacht sailing through Danish waters with escorts, and a Ukrainian businessman apparently targeted by a bomb attack in Monaco.
