Trump has signaled plans for Ukraine to make its own Patriots.
Exactly how that would work has not been laid out, but it still marks a major step for Kyiv nonetheless, as Russia ramps up airstrikes on the capital, with one last night and another during the day today. On top of the Patriots, Trump also said he would visit Ukraine at some point – which is positive news considering how bad things were just a year ago. Ukraine also scored a few “drone deals” in Ankara – which was nice.
But it isn’t all sunshine and rainbows at the NATO summit – Trump has also lashed out at Spain and confirmed that the war in Iran has started once again. We’ll probably feel it at the gas pump soon.
On a side note, Ukraine’s Military Intelligence (HUR) also told us about bilateral internships between Chinese and Russian troops – mostly routine training, probably, but it still raises questions about what role Beijing could play in any eventual settlement.
