It’s Monday, July 27 Still no news on where Fedorov is headed. But in terms of Russia’s war, signs are now suggesting that Russia is going all-in instead of de-escalating. On top of the multiple drones shot down in Romania over the weekend, Putin once again claimed that it was Ukraine that started the war despite the not-so-subtle call from Kazakhstan’s Tokayev to de-escalate and freeze the front, while Zelensky warned that Putin is going to mobilize another 500,000 troops for the war, plus another 30,000 troops from North Korea. In line with Putin, Russian lawmakers also demanded that Europe pay compensation for the war Moscow started. Iran also threatened to escalate with Ukraine after Kyiv struck an Iranian tanker, but Zelensky rebuffed the threats by saying that Iran had joined the war long ago by sending and helping Russia build the weapons used in Ukraine.  Meanwhile, Zelensky has headed to the UK to become the first foreign leader to meet new British PM Burnham following the latter’s recent appointment, with a decision expected on the UK transferring the IP rights to Ukraine to produce the “Stone Cloak” anti-jamming devices.
