Zelensky’s trip to the US has been a great success, it seems.
Both Trump and Zelensky called the talks positive, resulting in Witkoff and Kushner finally planning their maiden trip to Kyiv after their numerous visits to Moscow. More importantly, in a somewhat symbolic gesture, Zelensky witnessed the Senate pass the late Lindsey Graham’s Sanctioning Russia Act with an overwhelming majority shortly after the funeral service.
During the talks, Zelensky appealed for 300 Patriot missiles and told Trump about North Korea’s plan to deploy more troops. He also had a brief chat with Lockheed Martin about joint arms production.
With Iran, tensions also appear to be simmering down after both Kyiv and Tehran said they do not want escalation, which is good news.
As for the major news from Russia today, Moscow has declared Telegram founder Pavel Durov wanted for “aiding terrorism,” with Durov responding by showing his middle finger. It looks like the Kremlin’s state machine is already hard at work cracking down on channels for dissent ahead of the State Duma elections.
