It’s not just the ballistic missiles that Ukraine has to worry about, as new jet-powered drones are compounding the threats facing Ukraine.
As Russia bombards Ukraine with over 1,550 drones and 62 missiles over the past week, there’s still no news on when or whether new Patriot missiles would arrive as global supplies dwindle, with direct war damages to Ukrainian assets and infrastructure already rising to nearly $200 billion as of February. But otherwise, the war has raged on – 7 out of 10 Russian Wildberries warehouses are reportedly no more after months of attacks against the Russian retailer, and Ukraine continues to hit Russian oil while reporting some progress in liberating southern Ukraine.
Politically, protests calling for Fedorov’s reinstatement have continued, with the demands slowly expanding to calls for Zelensky to engage in public dialogue. Parliament is also set to convene tomorrow to vote on the new ministerial replacements – stay tuned for more updates.
The less ordinary news items today include the untimely passing of American actress Hayden Panettiere – which happened to be the former fiancée of boxer (and brother of Kyiv mayor) Wladimir Klitschko, and Russia’s placing Conor Kennedy – the son of RFK Jr. and former boyfriend of Taylor Swift – on its wanted list last week for fighting in Ukraine in 2022.
