Russia is preparing to falsify September’s State Duma elections in occupied parts of Ukraine. Kremlin had instructed occupation authorities to report turnout of between 65% and 70% and at least 70% support for Putin’s ruling United Russia party. Russia intends to organize voting in occupied parts of the Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, despite not fully controlling any of them.
Meanwhile, residents of Novosibirsk were reportedly told to stay indoors, keep away from windows and avoid using electronic or optical devices while Putin’s motorcade passed through the city Tuesday.
A notice distributed along the convoy’s route said the measures had been ordered by security agencies.
Separately, the US government sold for scrap two sanctioned oil tankers seized after Washington’s raid on Venezuela.
Dubai-based Global Marketing Systems reportedly purchased the Era and the Lileo for an undisclosed sum. Both vessels had previously operated under different names, a practice frequently used by sanctioned ships to evade detection.
