Kanye West just announced two shows in Russia’s St. Petersburg, which arguably might still not be the most controversial thing he’s done.
Coincidentally, the announcements also came out around the same time as this year’s (if not the war’s) largest drone raid on Moscow, with over 600 drones recorded. Conversely, a missile attack on Ukraine’s Kharkiv region also killed at least 10, alongside a drone barrage against Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia overnight – and with the attacks unabated, Kyiv has also grown less optimistic about the war ending this year, with HUR now saying Russia has no plans for peace deals this year.
Regarding the parliament’s resumption today, there’s still no major news on the new foreign and defense minister appointments – protests have continued calling for Fedorov’s reinstatement, while Zelensky has submitted his picks, Khmara and Sybiha, for consideration, amid controversy over whether a military man such as Khmara can technically lead the defense ministry without being a civilian.
In news of historical significance, the founder of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, Yevhen Konovalets, has been reinterred today in Ukraine, coming home after close to a century of turmoil for his beloved motherland.
