| At least 12 injured, including children, in Kyiv following Russian missile, drone attack. Russia launched a drone and missile attack on Kyiv on the night of Sept. 16-17, damaging an education facility and injuring at least 12 people in Ukraine's capital, officials reported.

Ukrainian forces strike Russia's Syzran Oil Refinery, drone production facility in Taganrog, military confirms. The General Staff said a direct hit and fire were recorded at the Syzran refinery, part of Russia's state-owned oil giant Rosneft. The AVT-6 primary oil refining unit and the facility's tank farm were hit, according to the statement.
Russian general killed in occupied Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine's drone forces say. "The general Grunis was eliminated on Sept. 12, 2026, in his nighttime lair in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk Oblast," Robert "Madyar" Brovdi, commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces, said.
Putin weaponizing migration to destabilize Europe, Kyiv says. "The Black Sea blockade is part of his plan," Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said, as Russian strikes against ports and vessels in Ukrainian waters are choking off Ukraine's agricultural exports.

"The Verkhovna Rada … has a decisive role in turning reform commitments requiring legislative action into tangible results for Ukraine," reads a letter sent to the Ukrainian parliament by two EU commissioners.

Ukraine is included in four of the five projects, which aim to address "urgent strategic capability shortfalls in key areas including air defense, maritime security, space, drone, and counter-drone capabilities, and monitoring of the EU's eastern flank," a European Council Presidency spokesperson said.
