WORLD WORLDWIDE EUROPE FRANCE - news journal UPDATE - (en) France, UCL AL #373 - International Contributions - Catalonia: Building Organized Anarchism (ca, de, fr, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

The Embat organization, present in Catalonia, identifies with the specificist current. In this text, they nevertheless revisit the significant influence of the Platform, but also the reasons why they do not identify as "platformists." --- Embat, OLC, founded under the name Procés Embat in 2013, considered the Platform to be one of the fundamental texts that every revolutionary activist should know. At that time, several libertarian organizations already existed across Europe, Africa, the Americas, and Oceania that identified as "platformists" or were "anarcho-communists in the Platform tradition."

In Catalonia and throughout Spain, only a handful of anarchist activists had read the Platform, at least until it began circulating online in English and Spanish-translated by Chilean comrades. This is why Embat preferred to align himself with a "social and organized anarchism." Defending "platformism" might have seemed too strange to an audience completely unfamiliar with it.

However, we recognized that the Platform was highly relevant to the necessary debates the movement needed to have, as outlined in both the general and constructive sections of the 1926 text. But since we were creating a new organization at a time when organizations were scarce and the movement was largely resistant to them, we focused for years on the organizational aspects, as well as on the introduction-which offered a critical perspective on the anarchist landscape of the 1920s, a century ago.

Over the years, we developed our political line, which aims to address the fundamental debates within the movement. These same debates inspired the Delo Truda group to draft a document that is now celebrating its centenary. We adopted measures very similar to those of the Russian group, although some were less so, particularly regarding societal developments and our influence in relation to other proposals, which is understandable given the passage of time.

Thus, the fact that this text is celebrating its centenary, that it is shared and adopted by a large part of the movement, and that it remains relevant, indicates that our anarchist movement is in the midst of fundamental debates for our time. The references are there for those who wish to draw inspiration from them. Our concern, like that of Diélo Trouda, is to build a solid anarchist movement. And as yesterday, we repeat: long live the social revolution of the workers of the world!
