It’s Thursday, Sept. 24 Zelensky said he would go to Moscow alright – but “on a f***ing rocket.” That was actually his response to heckling from Russian journalists in New York after the Kremlin insisted that Zelensky should come to Moscow if they want to talk. Despite that, momentum appears to be building toward a Zelensky-Putin meeting, with Trump reportedly having a three-step plan to restart peace talks after Ukraine also called for an unconditional ceasefire, a proposal backed by 50 countries. There is also some good news on Patriot deliveries, as Zelensky boasted of a 60% ballistic missile interception rate overnight, shortly after his cryptic remarks about a new Patriot deal. The missiles were also a key topic in his talks with NATO’s Rutte today. But in Europe, it appears that Russian escalations are getting normalized – NATO jets were scrambled over Romania as more Russian drones entered, while in Poland, two border crossings with Ukraine were closed after Russia struck western Ukraine, in addition to a Starlink ground station catching fire, with arson not ruled out.
