There’s no concrete info on what happened between the two leading intelligence agencies, but reports suggest that it’s tied to the disappearance of a deputy commander from the Russian Volunteer Corps, whose whereabouts remain unknown at this time.
Otherwise, all signs suggest that more escalations are underway in Russia’s war – Kyiv and Odesa were hit hard this morning as warehouses and a university were struck alongside residential buildings, soon after Zelensky warned airlines against flying over Russia, while Putin downplayed the risks and warned Kyiv of retaliation – including more strikes on energy infrastructure ahead of winter.
And on the subject of retaliation, Germany and the EU have also pointed fingers at Russia for the explosive drone in Leipzig and vowed to retaliate, with Medvedev, in true Medvedev fashion, doubling down and saying Russia should’ve just bombed Germany, including Berlin.
Ukraine is also staring down a $27 billion defense deficit as the reforms needed to unlock foreign funding remain in deadlock. Hungary’s blocking of more EU accession clusters for Ukraine – for the third time – also doesn’t instill confidence amid all that pessimistic outlook.
