Maroc, silence médiatique sur une grève de la faim

Dans les geôles de ce pays politiquement superprotégé, des prisonniers politiques en sont à plus de soixante jours de jeûne.

C’est dans un silence médiatique assourdissant que plus d’une vingtaine de détenus politiques marocains observent une grève de la faim. Tarek Hammami et Abdes-semad Haïdour, à la prison de Taza, l’ont entamée depuis plus de soixante jours. Hassan Koukou, Soufiane Sghéri, Mounir Aït Khafou et Hassan Ahmouch, détenus à la prison Toulal 2 de Meknès en sont, eux, à leur cinquantième jour de jeûne. Tous protestent contre les conditions de leur détention et les exactions (tortures, viols sur certains détenus) dont ils sont l’objet. Quasiment aucune ligne n’y a été consacrée dans la presse hexagonale. Pas un mot ni d’images dans les télés et radios. Comme s’il ne fallait surtout pas froisser l’image d’un Maroc accueillant pour ces touristes d’un genre particulier – personnalités du monde politique et culturel (Strauss-Kahn, Jack Lang), philosophes comme Bernard-Henri Lévy – qui disposent de « riads » à Marrakech quand ils ne sont pas pris en charge par le palais comme ce fut le cas du couple Sarkozy !

Pourtant, l’état de santé de ces détenus, dont certains appartiennent au Mouvement des jeunes du 20 février, principal animateur du « printemps marocain », se détériore de jour en jour. Les associations marocaines de défense des droits de l’homme, Human Rights Watch et Amnesty International ne cessent d’alerter sur la situation des 172 prisonniers politiques, dont certains (des militants sahraouis) sont condamnés à la prison à vie. Une campagne de parrainage dans laquelle s’est impliqué l’écrivain Gilles Perrault a été lancée pour alerter l’opinion. Driss El Yazami, ancien président de la Fédération internationale des droits de l’homme (FIDH), aujourd’hui président du Conseil national des droits de l’homme (CNDH) mis en place par le roi Mohamed VI, destinataire d’une lettre de l’Asdhom (association marocaine de défense des droits de l’homme), observe un silence royal sur cette situation.

Le chef de l’État, François Hollande, publiquement interpellé sur le cas des prisonniers marocains et des violations des droits humains (voir l’Humanité des 23, 28 et 29 avril) afin qu’il intervienne auprès des autorités marocaines lors de sa visite officielle à Rabat, a préféré tresser des lauriers à la monarchie alaouite. Même le point de presse organisé le 17 avril au Parlement européen par l’Asdhom, en présence (et avec le soutien) des députés européens Marie-Christine Vergiat et Willy Meyer (GUE-GVN), Ana Miranda (Verts-ALE) et Ana Gomes (PS), est passé inaperçu. C’est dire. De fait, tout laisse penser que le Maroc est un État superprotégé par la France, les USA et leurs alliés, mais aussi par la quasi-totalité des journaux, télés et radios français. Aussi, rien de surprenant que la monarchie poursuive sa répression en toute impunité.

Morocco, Rabat, Meeting on unemployed in North Africa (ca, fr)

The organizations in the Euro-Mediterranean Union Coordination want to show their
satisfaction with the success of the First Stops unemployed and North Africa held in Rabat
from 14 to 16 September 2012. ---- The National Association of unemployed graduates in
Morocco (ANDCM), the Tunisian Union of Unemployed (UDC), the National Committee on
Pre-employment (SNAPAP) have decided to strengthen their ties and establish a network to
strengthen their struggles. In the future it is expected that unemployed organizations in
other countries (Egypt, Mauritania, Palestine) to join this network. The presence of a
representative of associations of unemployed in France (MNCP, APEIS, AC) and will mark the
launch of a fully working internationalist.

We reaffirm our support for this important coordination internationalist movements of
unemployed workers and unemployed and the fight against unemployment, which are in a
global struggle for a society based on the satisfaction of collective needs of each
person. Continue to support physically, logistically and financially as far as we can to
these organizations.

Solidarity against repression remains a priority. This is the basis of our class and
internationalism is vital to fight against repression. We stay on alert and respond
requests from our comrades: news reporting, support and solidarity rallies, international
delegations .... Therefore, we reaffirm our full support for the ANDCM prisoners,
especially since Halim Halim El Bakkali Talaai having the trial on September 17, a fellow
of the UDC currently facing reactionary forces and the unemployed and unemployed who are
prosecuted in Algeria.

We support the implementation of joint actions between the unemployed and stops
organizations from different countries. There are already proposals on dates when events
are scheduled as December 1, important date for the unemployed / as in France and on May
16 for an international day of struggle against unemployment and job insecurity (in line
with what exists in Morocco since the assassination by the government of a militant
unemployed in 1993).

Organizations unemployed and stops on one side and the unions on the other, we are not in
competition. Our common objective is the defense of collective and individual rights and
create the conditions for social transformation of society. Thus, organizations belonging
to the Euro-Mediterranean Union Coordination warmly greet everyone participating in the
meeting and those who are involved in this fight and could not attend. We are fully
confident to continue supporting and working together.
