Request: international caravan 2015 from Münster to Elmau (Germany)
************************************************

Suggestion for an

International Caravan to the protests against the summit of the G7 in June 2015 in Elmau/Bavaria, Germany (still looking for a name)

Between the BUKO congress 2015 running from 14th to 17th of May 2015 in Münster and the G7 summit's protests in the Bavarian Alps 7. to 8. June are three weeks and places that are the destination we would like to visit with our planed caravan.

For the organisation of this action we would like to ask for your support.

Why a caravan?
- to provide a platform to speakers from international organisations to voice their critique and reasons for resistance against the politics of the G7 in the run up the summit
- to mobilise for the protests at the summit venue in Elmau during the BUKO congress and the places visited along the way

Who will join the caravan?
So far four speakers from Mexico, El Salvador and Columbia have been on our list (see email below). In order to create a powerful caravan we welcome other speakers from other continents enriching the issues to be raised.
Besides this, activists from Germany will join the caravan.

How do we travel?
The type of transport we chose depends on the size of the group that will take the journey.

Who will organise it?
This brings us to our actual request of this email: so far the BUKO (Federal coordination of internationalism) and the Öku-office Munich are interested in forming a coordination committee for the nation-wide organisation. With this email we would like to invite you and your group to be part of the organisation either by being part of the committee or otherwise. You can be part of the committee either as a group or as a single person. The committee is not only organising the caravan but designing the content.

We would like to ask you to let us know if you would like to be part of the caravan until the 4 of December and send an email to
If you have questions feel free to contact us.

Which route will we take?
That depends on the cities and places offering to be a host and which route is most sensible to take. The organisation committee has to write up a call to be send to as many groups as possible. This call will explain the project and the kind of demands we consider essential for a smooth running of the project. We will ask for feedback until a certain day. After that the committee will design the route. We know for sure:
The first stop is the BUKO congress from the 14th to the 17th of May 2015 in Münster.
The last stop is the summit protest and the big march against the G7 from the 4th to the 6th June in Munich, where the speakers will present their views.

How do we pay for this?
The Öku-office has a few proposals regarding financing, which will be discussed in the organisation committee.

Speakers we so far invited:
- Magdiel Sanchez Queiros from Mexico
Activist of JEN (Jóvenes ante la emergencia Nacional) and the Permanent People's Tribunal (TPP).
His contribution will focus on the effects of free trade on society. He will report on the results of the tribunal, but also the experiences of more than 500 organisations from all around Mexico, which were part of a long process preparing for the tribunal.

- Liliana Uribe from Colombia
A well-known lawyer who is relentlessly fighting against impunity in human rights abuses. Due to her courageous work for the victims of the conflict in Columbia Liliana and her colleagues of the "Cooperación Jurídica Libertad" are faced with death threats. The main focus of her input will be the phenomena of the militarisation with the example of Colombia.

- A representative of the agricultural sector, most likely Ana Maria Callas from El Salvador (coordinator of Via Campesina for Central America): main focus: agricultural poisons, genetic seeds (the role of Monsanto, Bayer etc.), food sovereignty, conflicts over land

- Bettina Cruz from Mexico
International known protagonist of indigenous resistance against the so called "Green Economy"- megaprojects from Oaxaca (Mexico)

The Öku office is trying to raise funds for the above guest speakers
