Indigenous Women in Canada Are Being Forcibly Sterilized. This Is Ethnic Cleansing. Demand an Investigation! Sign Now Dear friends, Imagine that you've just given birth. You're so excited to meet your child — but before you can, the doctor says that you must undergo a procedure. What's the procedure? Sterilization. You will never be allowed to have children again. Unfortunately, this is not just a bad daydream. For many Indigenous women in Canada, this is reality. Over the last couple decades, at least 60 Indigenous women in Saskatchewan, Canada have been coerced into undergoing forced sterilizations. There is currently a class action lawsuit against the government, and almost all the plaintiffs say they were lied to about what the procedure would entail, including being told incorrectly that it would be reversible. It is horrifying to realize that this kind of ethnic cleansing is still happening today. Please sign the petition to help demand justice. Forcibly sterilizing indigenous women effectively prevents First Nations peoples from creating future generations — meaning it could wipe out entire communities. Even worse, it's likely that these are not isolated cases. How far does this human rights violation go? Does it extend to other provinces? These are questions that must be answered. Information that's come out in court makes it clear that a program of racist eugenics is being directed against Indigenous women in Saskatchewan. That's why Senator Yvonne Boyer is calling on the Canadian Senate to authorize a nationwide investigation to determine where and how such eugenics is occurring. Only then can we make sure it comes to an end.
