Dear visitor of the Brussels Chopin Days,
We are living in bizarre times, and the situation of the last months has forced the Brussels Chopin Days to remain silent.
Unfortunately, COVID-19 and the Corona measures forced us to postpone the last concerts of the 2019-2020 season.
However. The world might not have found the right vaccin yet, Brussels Chopin Days comes with an alternative vaccin that might be as powerful: music.
As September traditionally is the month wherein the opening concert of the new season is taking place, and since we are unfortunately not in the situation yet of being able to offer you a real concert, we decided the following: if the public can't come to the hall, we bring the hall to the public.
During the whole month of September, you may, starting from today, expect one new video every two days and enjoy some music of F. Chopin at your home.
Six pianists and one cellist performed in an online edition works of our favourite Polish composer: piano sonatas, ballades, waltzes, mazurkas, polonaises,... You may hear it all, and this from the big (and empty) hall of the Conservatory of Brussels.
Everything has professionally been recorded, and from today on, you may enjoy the result on all channels of the Brussels Chopin Days: Youtube, Facebook, and Instagram.
Some impressive and international names joined the online version: Severin von Eckardstein, François Dumont and Alessandro Deljavan, but for this special edition we focused - more than ever - on musicians living and working in Belgium: also Karin Lechner, Matthieu Idmtal, Natasha Binder and cellist Alexandre Debrus are offering us their Chopin interpretations.
All videos are entirely free of access.
Would you however like to support the artists and the project with a donation?
This is more than appreciated, and gives us the chance trying to continue offering you the best we can. Any donation can me be made here.
Nothing can replace the athmosphere of a real concert and the intensity of live music, but let us share some moments together virtualy, in the hope that musical life will restart soon, with even more force and beauty.
We hope to welcome you in the near future, and will soon inform you on the plans and the program for the coming season.
Enjoy of the first video of this online edition:
