The CNT union expresses its strongest condemnation of the decision of the Pedro
Sánchez government in terms of legitimizing the invasion of the Moroccan state ofWestern Sahara and the serious violations of Human Rights in the occupied Saharaby a dictatorship, such as that of the king from Morocco. ---- We consider thatthe declarations of the government and the PSOE, supporting the theses of MohamedVI, renouncing the right to self-determination of the Saharawi people, are notonly contrary to international law, but also shameful, outrageous and deeplyimmoral. With this position, Pedro Sánchez becomes an accomplice in the politicsof a brutal dictatorship and co-responsible for the consequences of the Saharawar. A war that not only causes deaths, but infamous conditions for thepopulation, along with the repression, imprisonment and torture of dissenting voices.We must remember that Spain is still the "de jure" administering power of WesternSahara and that it is in breach of international law by not decolonizing it. Onthe other hand, it is an insult to intelligence to use different criteria withrespect to Human Rights depending on whether the government of a country is anally of the United States or not. If we all agree that Putin is a despot and thatthe invasion of Ukraine is a criminal act, the invasion of the Sahara is no lessso. Nor is Mohamed VI less of a dictator than another, just because he is a NATOally. We send a message of encouragement to the entire Saharawi population in thecamps, in the occupied territories and in the diaspora. We reiterate our supportfor all refugees, without distinction.We also send our message of encouragement to the compañeras and compañeros whoare suffering in Moroccan prisons (Saharawis, Rif people, political prisoners...)and we demand their immediate release, as well as the withdrawal of the occupyingtroops and compliance with the law. by the Spanish government, decolonizingWestern Sahara once and for all.
