In the early hours of 8/18, a violent operation was carried out by the Greek
police, specifically by MAT and EKAM forces, in the camp of Eleonas, in thecontext of the previous decision of the Municipality of Athens and the Ministryof Migration Policy for the gradual evacuation of the camp, and the displacementof immigrants outside Athens. At the same time, on an island on the northernborder between Greece and Turkey, there were 39 refugees trapped and helpless formany days, while the Greek and Turkish states were demonstrably indifferent tothese people, throwing the ball at each other for their rescue. 3 dead refugeeswashed up on the shores near Chios, two of whom were handcuffed before beingthrown into the sea. The shipwreck in the south of Rhodes already counts 50missing, while in Kythira, around 180 immigrants and refugees were held for 2days under the sun, without the slightest suspicion of shade. Maria, a 5-year-oldgirl from Syria died from a scorpion sting on a rock island, after she wasrepatriated along with about 40 other refugees & migrants. In a context ofcomplete obsolescence, not only were no rescuers found, despite the mortal dangerto the life of a small child, but after her death, her body remained buried, inwater for preservation.Power kills. Its eternal conditions are exploitation and death. All policies aimat the intensity of poverty, impoverishment, the consolidation of socialcannibalism among the exploited, the lubenization of resistances and subjects,the strengthening of the regime of exception for the "surplus" populations, theerecting of walls against the interior and external enemy. In Greece, as in allof Europe and in the USA. and everywhere in the world states and governments letus know for the thousandth time that human life has absolutely no value if youare a poor worker, a refugee or a member of a minority. The lives of theoppressed are sacrificed on the altar of capitalist profiteering, which in orderto continue the cycle of exploitation unhindered needs state terrorism.The deplorable living conditions in Kara Tepe, on Lesbos and in all theconcentration camps throughout the territory, where people are forced to live inconfinement, without electricity, heating and running water, crammed into tents,their prolonged incarceration in detention centers with under the pretext of thepandemic, the complete lack of medical care and any other prevention regardingthe measures to avoid the spread of covid-19, their continuous isolation from thecenters of the metropolises and society itself and the suppression of anyresistance either with the violence of the MAT or through the terrorism ofpushbacks and deportations once again make manifest the most obvious: themanagement of migration flows is a management of extermination and the stateholds the monopoly of violence either against the immigrants or against to thesympathizers and to anyone who tries to raise his head against the murderous prodrops of it. The horror of the concentration camps, where even the rudimentaryinfrastructure to cover basic needs is absent and the permanent forced isolationof these people constitute a clear state-capitalist crime against humanity.The above is not an unprecedented event, but a permanent situation in themanagement of the lives of refugees and immigrants in recent years. Theconcentration camps are the most characteristic example of the application of theexemption regime. In these places, human life has absolutely no value, as themost discredited part of the population, the invisibles of this society aredeprived not only of basic benefits and rights, such as decent living conditions,care, education and even feeding, but also the very right to live. Thissituation, in Greece as well as in all the European countries receiving refugeesand immigrants, is now the established (and legally established) management ofpeople who are judged to be surplus within the capitalist system. People withoutpapers, without names and finally without lives try to escape the horrors of warand poverty and die, trying to win back some of the dignity and life that thebrutality of power, whether it drops bombs or builds hell, has robbed them of. From our side, solidarity knows neither borders nor time limits. It ispermanent, practical and not trapped in any kind of divisions (refugees -immigrants).No solution can be temporary since the problem did not appear now but has beencreated for years by the countries that manage the world's wealth. Theorganization of the oppressed around the world is the only one that can overthrowdomination and ensure humane and dignified living conditions. Social solidaritybetween oppressed foreigners or locals is our weapon against the exploiters. Weorganize and fight together with immigrants for a society of equality andfreedom.
