The Uprising continues festival had a several-day program this year. We managed
to attend the lectures in Nová Cvernovka on Sunday, August 28. and the Mondaymarch and art and music event. ---- Especially Sunday was a very pleasant day forus. At our info stand, we met new people and talked not only about ouractivities, but also about how to support and organize each other. We helped theNebudeme ticho collective in painting a banner for Monday's event, and we alsoappreciated the lectures on anti-capitalist activities in the Ostrava queercommunity (in connection with the desecration of the original idea of rainbowmarches), on climate anxiety and how to deal with it, and on practical methods ofself-defense not only for women. ---- The uprising continues to provide space foranti-authoritarian collectives, which is gratifying. Although reminiscent of theSNP, it tries not to be just an expression of traditional democratic civicactivism. However, it is a difficult endeavor leading to dilemmas andcontradictions. This year, it was perhaps most evident in the selection ofspeakers for Monday's march. Despite the reservations, we understand thatorganizing such an event is difficult and it is valuable that people getinvolved.
